Stunning hotel in the upper hillside of the town. Traditional architecture, incredible views, charming owners and support staff. Wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night!

AMAZING!!!! A wonderful hotel in the Ottoman style. My room was unreal, the view of the city and the castle. I had the pleasure of experiencing a thunderstorm, the rumbling and lightening cracking over the city was a sight to behold.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was exceptional!
Thank you so much for an amazing stay and I’m just sorry I couldn’t stay longer this time.

Es un hotel pequeñito, cuesta un poco llegar porque la carretera es muy empinada pero por otro lado está cerca del bazar donde por la noche está el ambiente. El desayuno servido en la terraza es un placer y se agradece el trato tan humano. Pero si algo destacaría por encima de todo es la amabilidad y eficacia de Altja, la chica de recepción. Un encanto de chica que se presta a ayudarte incluso después de irnos. Amabilidad y humanidad.

Heel leuk hotel. Bij aankomst denk je, huh, waar kom ik terecht. Leuk om de stijl van Albanië te ervaren in het hotel. De kamer is prima en schoon. Bed ligt goed en de badkamer is schoon. Ontbijt was erg leuk. Buiten werd aan je tafel een ontbijtje neergezet met allerlei lekkers. Locatie ook goed, even naar boven/beneden klimmen en je bent in het ontzettende leuke centrumpje.

Beautiful, quaint hotel with lovely old style Albanian furnishings. Classic! We took “the best” room #3, with king-size very comfortable bed with soft linens. Spectacular long window seat with full-on view of the mountains was extraordinary to lounge in at any time of day. Had a huge private bathroom down a hall with a soaking tub and shower. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with table service on the balcony, in the courtyard or under the trees. Friendly, helpful service. Short walk to the fabulous Old City Center. Shops and restaurants galore. We highly recommend staying here. The road up from town tested my boldest Eastern European driving skills to the max! It was a great adventure on 2-way streets wide enough for one car!

We spent one night at the Kalemi Hotel. It is an old Ottoman house with a lot of character and charm. The room is very large, very quiet and the view of the city is breathtaking. A very warm welcome, very good breakfast, wifi which works very well...everything was perfect. Only small point, a little difficult to find because the streets of Gjirokastër are quite "complicated" with a car. But, parking is at your disposal. I especially wanted to warmly thank the hotel staff : I had forgotten a gold chain in the room. I contacted them and they graciously sent it back to my home in France. I found it in my mailbox when I returned. A big thank-you.

I spent a night in this hotel (be careful, it's called Kalemi2, Kalemi is another structure and the reviews I read are excellent or terrible, probably due to the confusion between the two hotels) during a group trip organized by a tour operator. The environment is typically Ottoman, in line with the whole village. Beautiful, typically furnished room, well equipped. Breakfast perhaps a little simpler than elsewhere, but not negative, friendly staff. Located in the middle of the village, it does not require extreme effort to climb. Advised.

At the top of the hill and the common balconies had a beautiful view! Stunning! The service was fab as well. Breakfast was in their cute courtyard and it was simple but delicious! Even if you are vegetarian, it's not too bad! Amazing location and great views
