La Pluie de Roses

This B&B, walking distance to Les Jardins du Monet, had its own lovely gardens and enclosed, free parking area. Our room included a large sitting area and a spacious bedroom. We slept very well. The bathroom had a shower, sink and toilet. Breakfast was delicious. The furnishings were a bit worn and the towels were thin, but this is a small B&B, not a 5-star hotel. We were completely happy with our one night stay here.

Beautiful property with gorgeous plants, winding paths, inviting seating areas and water features. The host is charming and funny. The bed was huge and the bathroom was modern, breakfast was delicious. The house is only a few minutes walk from a variety of restaurants, we only wish we could’ve stayed more than one night.

We stayed here April 2023 for one night in the superior double room with terrace and had a very nice stay. Here are our observations/experiences that also factor items such as: what we knew prior to booking (type and cost of lodging), historical variables, total value for the money and comparisons with similar experiences – we greatly appreciate travelers who have provided reviews for our vacation planning and hope this info helps you too 😊: THE GOOD STUFF: • Hotel owner (Luciano) accommodating, friendly and helpful. He used a translation device to help communicate with us, greatly appreciated. • On-site parking behind a locked gate (we were given a code) • Luggage cart on wheels to help get luggage from car to house door • When we arrived, Luciano greeted us at the gate where Google directions took us. He gave us a map showing how to access the other, large gate and private parking. • WiFi worked very, very well • Grounds are lovely, plants and trees to be appreciated • Comfortable room, bed, pillows • Windows opened • Good breakfast, including a delightful surprise prepared by Luciano: scrambled eggs with herbs and bacon strips. Also available on buffet table: breads, croissants, baguettes, whole fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, tea • At our request, breakfast was ready early to accommodate our timed entry to Giverny house/gardens. AWARENESS STUFF: • No elevator – we knew this before we booked this historical location. One set of stairs up to bedroom. • Dimly lit bedroom and just a few outlets – although we booked what was called a superior double room with terrace, not sure we would have called it that NEEDS ACTION: • Better lighting in room • Add an electrical bus bar to provide accessible places to plug in electronics

Our trip to Giverny to visit Claude Monets Garden was very pleasant also because we had the best place to stay: La Pluie de roses- manifique! Fabulous spacious room very chique and a sumptuous breakfast! we were spoiled by a super polite and attentional host Luciano! Thank you ever so much for your hospitality! I strongly recommend and I will for sure get back :)
