We were a couple with a 12-year-old child in the "Minerve" accommodation where we felt very good: cleanliness, equipment, quality of the beds... and a top-notch barbecue that we used a lot. The place is ideal for visiting the region and it is quiet. Everything is well-kept, the swimming pool really pleasant and even if the strong heat this summer attracts insects near the water, it is not a problem and the children present at the castle all had a great time. Finally, the welcome was really very nice, thank you very much to our hosts with whom we had a very nice meeting and who are very good advice for discovering the region and its good restaurants: thank you both! We did not see our 10 days there go by and we crisscrossed the region with pleasure: Minervois wines, Canal du Midi, Amphoralis, city of Carcassonne, Narbonne, Gruissan, Leucate, Sigean...

A big thank you for the warm welcome. The place was very, very pleasant and spotlessly clean. The studio was very comfortable and the breakfast was a real plus!! Nothing was missing!! Pros: The Martinique room is pleasant to stay in. Parking space. Very well-done housekeeping. The swimming pool (despite the presence of many bees some afternoons) Cons: The breakfasts are generous but repetitive (no different products during a week's stay) Septic tank smell in the room some mornings The owners are not very friendly (when we arrived with our baby we felt that we were not welcome) We booked a room with a baby and they charged us a supplement because they consider that he should pay like a child (€172 extra for the week) - this is not mentioned on their website. When we arrived, I was told "I will have to charge you for the baby because it is high season, too bad it is not low season..." (objective: to make as much money as possible) We have stayed in many hotels / gîtes before coming to this area and we have never paid a supplement for our baby. Our friends have also never paid for a baby in a hotel / gîte. Where is the only hotel / gîte in France that charges for babies? We unfortunately found it. Here is the owner's response to my request for information (I'll let you judge his professionalism in his response) regarding the baby supplement for one week: "Indeed, a 12-month-old baby is a child! What else? Your question obviously concerns us! I think we don't need to write that a baby should be considered a child..... that goes without saying! How do you consider it? An object? Luggage? An animal?" In my humble opinion, babies are not welcome in this hotel and they should mention on their website: "Hotel for adults only". Kind regards.
