Homstel Beach - Taormina Hostel

Wow! Where do I start? My partner and I woke up and decided to travel from Catania to Taormina by train. We arrived at the station in Taormina and headed to a quaint little beach. Closer to checkin time we hit Google Maps to find our way and discovered it does not display bus route options. We thought we would be walking uphill for 30 mins in the heat but luckily we stumbled across a local bus route, so don’t panic! Everything just kept getting better from here. We made our way up the side steps to the entrance, greeted along the way by the cutest little lizards. Our host introduced himself and checked us in seamlessly. Bearing in mind this was our first ever hostel stay and we had no idea what to expect. We were given our beds in a mixed dorm and met the most incredible group of likeminded people from all walks of the planet. From here we spent the evening exploring and made our way back to the balcony to hang out with our new friends. Everything and everyone about this stay was welcoming and homely. Memories were made and I’m very much excited for what lies ahead. The bathrooms were lovely and clean as was the entire hostel. The kitchen is dainty and perfect for all meals. Thank you to all of the glorious staff for easing us into hostel life and introducing us to the limitless possibilities that lie within adventures.
