Excellent family, down-to-earth hospitality. Great experiences catering to a range of interests. We did the tour with the San people, horse ride, game drives, and saw the predator project. We learnt a lot about life in the Kalahari. The Bowers are fantastic hosts and knowledgeable guides who were very happy to answer all our questions. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to see, experience, and learn about the Kalahari.

Many lodge claim to be "family-owned and family-managed" resorts but this one truly lives these values. We spent two wonderful evenings watching the rhinos with Neeltjie, Anri and Tiaan. It was a rare privilege to learn about the region and the culture from a sixth generation descendant of the Dorsland trek from South Africa. And watching Anri converse with the bushmen in Naro was awe-inspiring! For a horse rider like me, cantering through the bush with rhinos and antelopes with an absolute delight. The visit to Grassland Safari Lodge was a unique experience!

Grassland Safari Lodge war die schönste Lodge auf unserer Reise. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Anri und ihr Team sind wundervoll❤️ Die einzeln stehenden Zimmer sind super, das Essen ist köstlich und die Ausflüge (Bushman Walk, Reit-Safari) sind wunderbar. Den ganzen Tag sieht man am Wasserloch Tiere (Nashörner, Eland, Gnus, Springböcke,…). Die Haustiere (Hunde und Katzen) sind super. Anri kann alle Fragen beantworten und nimmt sich sehr viel Zeit. Wir können diese Lodge empfehlen!
Wichtig ist, dass sie sehr abgelegen ist und die Anreise ca. 2 Stunden ab der Hauptstraße dauert, da man 12 Tore öffnen und schließen muss. Die Fahrt lohnt sich und ist bereits ein Game Drive.

Wir waren zwei Nächte in dieser besonderen Lodge. Weit abseits 60 km von der Hauptstraße entfernt und hinter 16 Farmtore befindet sich die Unterkunft. Am Wasserloch haben wir Nashörner gesehen. Das Essen war super und auch der Game Drive und Bushman Walk waren echt klasse. Von den Besitzern haben wir viel gelernt und uns gut am Feuer unterhalten. Absolute Ruhe, ganz viel Natur und ein toller Sternenhimmel sind die Belohnung für die lange Anfahrt. Die Zimmer sind ordentlich und sauber, etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Moskitonetze wären schön gewesen. Wir haben die Dusche unter freien Himmel genutzt. Ein vollwertiges Bad gibt es aber auch. Wir haben auch den Pool genutzt und die Auswahl der Getränke war sehr gut. Wir haben die zwei Tage unserer Rundreise sehr genossen und werden sie nicht vergessen. Ich kann diese Lodge nur wärmstens empfehlen. Neben den Nashörnern zur Trockenzeit kommen auch Elendanthilopen, Impalas, Gnus, Perlhühner, Schakale und Oryxe zum Wasserloch!

We had a wonderful experience at Grasslands Safari Lodge. The owners are exceptionally well organized and kind. The accommodation is lovely and the environment is superb. The waterhole in front of the lodge is a wonderful source of amazement and also of tranquility as all sorts of animals come down to drink throughout the day and evening. It is very peaceful. The owners have an incredible depth of knowledge gathered over many decades and even generationally on this land. Respectful contact with San Bush people was an absolute highlight that I will take joyfully into the rest of my life. The food was delicious and care was taken to cater to special dietary needs. A great deal of care and awareness has gone into taking care of the wild animals in this area. Overall this was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to all people wanting to have a deep immersion in Ghanzi, in the Kalahari.

I love the bush. If you have a chance to spend time in the bush at Grasslands you will have an experience with good memories to last. We saw rhino, up close and almost too personal and too many other things to list. Time with the San was a delight to us. This is the "real deal" and you will feel privileged to be here. I cannot recommend the camp/lodge too highly.

If you want to meet rhino's, this is the place to go to ! We came by car from Central Kalahari Game Reserve end the Grassland Lodge is the perfect place to get rid of the sand. Neetjie, Ian and their San crew are great hosts and you will enjoy every minute. It is unique to relax in the swimming pool and watch the rhino's play on the grass next to the pool...
