We loved our visit. The inn was just what we were hoping for. Beautiful home and Teresa’s breakfasts were so very good. She was very thoughtful working with my food allergies. Steve was very knowledgeable about the history of the home and area which we appreciated being History buffs. We enjoyed spending time on the covered porch, watching the wildlife and sipping some wine after an enjoyable day exploring Gettysburg. Our room was on the top floor/attic. It was spacious and clean, but would recommend if you have mobility issues, and large luggage it could be difficult to climb the steep stairs. However we were fine with it and enjoyed the privacy of not having anyone next to us or above us. Highly recommend a stay here!

My husband and I had the most relaxing stay at the Lightner House- it was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Steve and Teresa were not only so knowledgeable about Gettysburg and things to do, but they are also incredibly welcoming. You will not be disappointed with Teresa’s yummy breakfast. The hosts offered much useful information regarding sites to visit and restaurant recommendations. Steve has a wealth of information on Gettysburg history and Teresa makes a fabulous breakfast. The Inn is charming with period decorations and architecture from the 1800’s. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The B&B experience at Lightner Farmhouse is fabulous. The food is prepared like a first class restaurant and served at the time it is promised. The innkeepers are extremely knowledge about the history of the farmhouse, the town of Gettysburg and the Battle of Gettysburg. All of this made it a great experience for all. Highly recommend and close to all things Gettysburg.

Steve and Teresa were wonderful hosts of this lovingly restored historic property. Steve was a wealth of knowledge regarding the fascinating history of the property. He also made suggestions based on our interests and arranged our private tour with a brilliant guide. Teresa prepared beautiful and delicious three course breakfast. This is a perfect bed and breakfast to enhance your Gettysburg visit. Highly recommend.

Truly a beautiful experience. House and rooms are lovely, lots of areas to relax in. Steve is a treasure trove of information, regaling us with history and geneology during the sumptuous breakfasts prepared by Theresa. Couldn't have had a better time.

We stayed at the Lightner Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast with 4 other couples for our annual spiritual retreat! Steve and Teresa were kind, welcoming, accommodating, helpful hosts. The restaurants they recommended were all wonderful - The Gettysburger, Olivia’s and The Dobbin House Tavern. We appreciated the use of the downstairs gathering room to meet as a group throughout our stay! The breakfasts were delicious! We really enjoyed Steve sharing the history of the house and Gettysburg in general.

Best stay EVER
Weather was great meanwhile we thought we were going to be dealing with rain the whole weekend. When you check in they go over the history of the lightener farm and the use of the home back during the civil war. Booked the Lincoln room which turned out to be the best room. The room had its own door to enter from the outside with a porch with several rocking chairs that looks over the left side of the property. Breakfast hands down was the best I’ve ever had on all of my stays in Gettysburgs over the past 7 yrs. The room was beyond comfortable and the shower was great with amazing water pressure. I will definitely be rebooking for all of my future trips to Gettysburg.
