We recently visited Gettysburg in late-June and stayed 4 nights at the 1863 Inn. This hotel makes every visit to Gettysburg extremely easy. We always stay here, and wish that we could find hotels like this on our other travels. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The recent room renovations are wonderful and made the stay very comfortable. As always, the breakfast options are always outstanding ( I love the pancake maker that has been added). This hotel also has a great location, as it is close to the battlefield and numerous businesses in Gettysburg. One can park here and easily walk to nearby restaurants. When we talk to other people planning a visit to Gettysburg, we always recommend the 1863 Inn. The staff is always great, along with the hotel's location. We already made our reservations for our return visit over the Thanksgiving holiday. Please keep up the great work!!! Thank you!!!

We stayed here for Bike Week. While checking in on July 9, 2025. We had the cash for our stay and wanted to use our credit card for the security deposit. The woman at the desk said we can’t pay cash at checkin. This hotel charges your card the full amount and you can pay with cash at checkout. Then they reverse the charge on your card. We could not convince her we had the cash and wanted to use our card for security deposit. This is ridiculous. She added our sister hotel lets you pay upfront with cash but this one does not. I’m pretty sure a business cannot refuse cash but they did. This policy has to be changed. You can’t tie up people’s money like this and expect people to be happy with it.

Inn 1863 were offering rooms for $60 a night for people in the community affected by the huge power outage in the middle of the heatwave. We got a room for 2 nights so my family could go there and shower. We had a generator running at home and couldn’t leave that running by itself. The rooms were VERY clean and updated and employees were very kind and helpful during g this very stressful time. Thank you!!

Had a great time. Front desk, breakfast and pool attendant were all friendly and wonderful. Best breakfast, nice pool was worried about laundry only 1 washer/dryer but no one was ever there the 2x I used it. Road noise was more than I thought but not terrible. Parking in rear of hotel should 100% be on one side only. Very tight squeeze and cars will get dinged, just park on either side of building. That was my biggest complaint just seems like accidents waiting to happen. Everything else was perfect, clean rooms great staff and great breakfast. Will be back for sure.

Clean and updated rooms, friendly staff, great location, and great breakfast. We have stayed here for all 6 of our trips to Gettysburg and there is a reason for it! The location is perfect walking distance to wherever you would like to go. If any issue arises the staff is happy and willing to help assist with anything.

Having looked at numerous hotels in Gettysburg, we selected 1863 Inn for our two nights stay. We were totally pleased with the choice. Located at the end of town near some restaurants that were very good and fairly quiet at night. Our room was in the annex building next to the pool but still quiet during the day. The rooms were clean and well appointed. A plus was their free breakfast with a lot more choices than I expected. Will definitely stay in this hotel in the future with our whole family.

Great location. Very clean and spacious rooms. Great variety of vending machines and free breakfast items. Big pool. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and conveniently located. Everything about our experience was excellent. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Currently, Gettysburg and Adams County is going through a horrible heat wave and many are left without power. I'm one of the unlucky ones whose MetEd substation caught on fire, not once, but twice. I won't have power for a few days. The 1863 Inn of Gettysburg advertised great, affordable rates for locals affected by the power outages. I've stayed at the Inn in the past, so I thought I'd stay again. I luckily got the last room available, and it was a nice surprise. A King bed and jacuzzi tub! So even though I may have been inconvenienced at home with no power, the room totally made up for it. Thank you to the GM, Norma, for squeezing me in to the last room!

We stayed in a clean, freshly updated room that felt comfortable and well-maintained. The bed was a bit firm for our liking. The central location is a huge plus — we were able to walk to many nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants with ease. A great spot for anyone wanting to explore Gettysburg!
