My boyfriend and I were on a getaway trip in Crete and stayed in this hotel. :) Room: - Ours was a one bedroom ‘apartment’ with a small kitchen and a built in fridge as well as a terrace with two comfortable chairs and a table. We liked our room very much and we thought it was perfect for the two of us. We appreciated the terrace, as we sat there often and relaxed as we could hear the waves from the beach, which we loved. We also had the seafront view but you basically get that from any room. You are allowed to smoke in the terrace as well! The bed was comfortable. It wasn’t too soft or too hard unless you’re the type of person who wants to drown in bed. There is a bed side table on both sides with a lamp and a charging port. The A/C costs €5 a day, which is understandable as it is a family owned business and at this inflation rate? We support small businesses! Forget the review that says it doesn’t cool the room entirely. If you are smart enough to use the remote, then you’re good. <3 Bathroom: - The bathroom is a bit small but we thought it was spacious and comfortable enough for a person to use! It is also recently renovated thus the modern look. We liked that the water flow from the shower was strong and had both warm and cold water. Kitchen: - There are 2 stoves and kitchen supplies that you can use. Plus a fridge that was very useful to keep our water bottles in specially in the hot weather! Frankly, we didn’t use the kitchen, cause well… we wanted to try Greek food as much as possible. Location: - It was the most perfect location. Only a minute away from your room is Gerani beach. Not at all crowded! The beach might look “badly maintained” as the other reviewer mentioned, but it might look like that because of the stones in the sand. And this is where you get water shoes to protect your feet from them and the warm sand. There were no garbage or anything like that. There are 2 nearby restaurant and bar right by the beach and about 2 minutes from where you live: Hippokratis and Stavros. My boyfriend and I went to both places nearly every day for lunch and dinner if we weren’t in Platanias or Chania. Hippokratis is a family owned business and we had the pleasure of having served by them. They are the the nicest and helpful people. The food was delicious and VERY affordable. You have to try their dolmades and gyros. The pool and the sunbeds are free of use if you are a customer. Stavros is also a family owned business (as a lot of the places in Gerani). Service was wonderful and the people were nice. The food was delicious and same with Hippokratis, the pool and sunbeds were also free of use. There is also a small supermarket by Myrion hotel if you are ever in need of anything! Transportation: - There has been recently built a bus stop in front of Myrion hotel, about 200 m from Ariana. The bus goes to Platanias (5-10 mins), Agia Marina (10 mins) and last stop is Chania (30 mins, depending on traffic). The bus goes from 1
