Atlantica Caldera Creta Paradise

Very good food with quite but not perfect variation. Nice staff. Not great English in reception. Clean and nice pools. Plenty of pools and sunbeds to choose from. Beach is close and good availability of sun beds. Didn't open the closest (to our room) snack bar until Wednesday and we arrived on Saturday. So we had to walk 5 minutes since most of the all inclusive stuff was next to the restaurant. TV is terrible and locked behind their own system with no apps like Netflix. Had Chromecast with me but it wouldn't connect to the wifi because of limitations made by the hotel. Room was too small for 3 people with 28-30 square meters we should have upgraded. Overall a nice and well maintained and relatively modern hotel with close proximity to the beach and plenty of nice pools. Decent rooms. Good service and good food. We arrived around 12:15 but couldn't check in closer to 15. I know it's their check in time but we had traveled for 10 hours or so with small children and wanted desperately to check in. It was 33 degrees. Super disappointed by this but the one to blame is probably Apollo. Which means I won't be ordering with apollo again

Stay here in May half-term, the hotel had many positives. Food we thought was excellent, this included the included Greek restaurant and the additional grill restaurant, both was very good. Genuine restaurant experience. The bar staff were extremely friendly, the pool and location next to the beach was ideal. Rooms were very nice and location good. Plenty of sunbeds, no need to reserve one early we would go to the pool after breakfast each day and easily get one. Only negatives was the responses to the sandstorm, whilst this weather is completely out of control the response isn’t. The main pool wasn’t started to be cleaned until 12pm and was out for the whole day. The rain stopped previous night. There was an issue with the cleaning of our room, but reception management team dealt with this well, I would say if you had an problems on holiday they would resolve it, which isn’t always the case.

So hard to decide what to rate this hotel. On the first night we found mould under our units looking for a plug to charge our phones. Reception sent a cleaner who did his best but wiped it with a damp cloth ? Mould with a damp cloth ? We were then offered spa treatments as compensation…… we are a couple with a young child ? When we then asked if there was anything else to offer they told us they would think but nothing came of that ……. Anyway back to reception and the general manager this time comes and has a look and says he can move us tomorrow after we’d already explained we can’t stay in this unit as we have an asthmatic child. After 2 hours we were moved into another unit which had a faulty shower, bathroom light and curtains starting to fall down but we felt we couldn’t complain anymore. The staff at the hotel overall were so friendly and polite. The bar staff of the evening were almost more entertaining than the entertainment its self some nights. They were fantastic and the drinks were great all day long. The food was a bit same old same old and all tasted the same expect from all the different salads on offer each lunch and dinner time. Breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about. We also had a really bad sand storm on of the nights which left the pool full off sand. The pool cleaner didn’t start to clean this until gone 1pm the next day which left us confused as it hadn’t been raining since 10/11pm and the sandstorm had finished at the same time I think had we not had such a bad experience with rooms we’d rate this higher and go back but due to this we wouldn’t and it’s rated what it is
