My highest score goes to the check-in receptionist. I only saw his last name, Ven. Don't look for the Indian receptionist when checking in. There were two of them, a man and a woman, both Indian. They checked me in and asked about the 90 ringgit per night child fee, since my child was only 10 and didn't occupy a bed. So I contacted the Chinese receptionist, who finally explained the situation. I booked a club room, and upon entering, I discovered a surprise in the toilet, which hadn't been flushed. I later reported it to Ctrip customer service, who sent someone to clean it. After all, it's a Shangri-La hotel, so this shouldn't be the case. The hotel is convenient, and the afternoon tea in the executive lounge was decent, but the food was slow to be restocked. This is understandable given the peak season crowds. It's child-friendly, and aside from the cleanliness, everything else is acceptable. The breakfast isn't as extensive as in China, which is understandable. If convenience is your primary concern, this hotel is fine, but for a price of 1,000 ringgit per night, not including the child fee, breakfast is 35 ringgit per day, and the cleanliness is truly disappointing.

Booking through Trip.com. Unfortunately, check in at the hotel we faced issue. The booking number is under a different name. Delayed for 10 minutes at the counter. Until now, there is no update from Trip.com despite my call to the customer service. They promised to reply within 24 hours, and it is more than 24 hours, title silence from them. I will not recommend Trip.com to anyone

This is my first time staying at Jen Penang, and overall, the experience has been good. The only issue I encountered was with the Wi-Fi connection. Although the signal strength was strong, I had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi in my room. The network is open to all guests without requiring a password, which might be the reason why, when too many people are connected, some users experience difficulty accessing it.
