Bad experience – Severe Hygiene Issues, Persistent Foul Smell, and Poor Management (number provided is not for call. ONLY WhatsApp) – Avoid at All Costs!
This was my first time ever giving a 1-star rating, and unfortunately, it’s well-deserved for Geo38 Premium Suites. If you’re planning a trip to Genting Highlands, only consider this property as an absolute last resort – after every other option is fully booked.
Our nightmare began right at check-in, which is inconveniently located at Windmill Upon Hills (a separate building). We had to drive there to collect keys before heading back to Geo38 – a hassle we weren’t fully prepared for, especially after a long drive from Singapore with our young children (aged 3 and 6).
Upon entering the first room late at night (around 1-2am), we were hit by a strong, pungent drainage smell from the toilet that filled the entire unit. It instantly ruined any excitement. Inside the bathroom, the odour was overwhelming, with visible mouldy stains on the glass panels all around.
We managed to switch to a second unit, but unbelievably, the same foul toilet drainage smell persisted throughout the room. Staff later checked and acknowledged the issue, suggesting another move the next day.
By midday the following day (nearly 2pm), there was still no update on a new room. Exhausted and disappointed – especially with little kids after such a disruptive night – we decided to check out after just one night and book elsewhere nearby. We had originally planned for three nights.
This entire ordeal was incredibly inconvenient for a family trip. Management’s only solution was swapping rooms, with no offer of partial refund or further compensation for the shortened stay and distress caused.
I strongly advise against booking here, especially with children or if hygiene is a priority. There are far better options around Genting – save yourself from the disappointment.
Let these photos do justice.
