Hampton Inn Geneva

My husband booked this hotel because he believes in the Hampton/Hilton brand. This hotel is poorly maintained and I will never stay in another Hampton. There was mold in the shower and rust stains. The shower pan has stains in it when you step on it to take a shower.. it flexes. I just felt gross staying in this hotel. The sink cabinet in the bathroom was missing a piece of the leg. The furniture in the room was worn out and needs refurbishing. Our room looked out onto the railroad tracks. The train blows its horn at 8:00am! My husband and I had to laugh at the train outside our room. It was like the stay from hell! We did not try the breakfast at the hotel because I just wanted to spend the least amount of time in the hotel. Would not recommend this place. The only positive to this hotel is its location to Geneva downtown.

This dated inn is really starting to show its age. From the disabled pool and spa to the worn and damaged furniture, it's hard to overlook the premium price you're paying for proximity to the lake. And it's a shame, because we enjoyed a view of Seneca Lake from our third-floor room. Decor is tasteful. Most staff are trying to be accommodating. But you may want to wait for them to get their act together before staying here.

This hotel was disappointing. It did not meet anything we read in the reviews. Hotel is in need of remodeling. Room was dingy. Sheet did not cover the matress. Top bed cover was shredded. We and other customers had to wait for an employee to show up at the front desk. We left shortly after checking in.

There is no parking near the front door. All parking is inconveniently to the side and rear of the building. The front desk staff was very nice and eager to help. I had questions and a lost key. My issues were taken care of with professionalism and eagerness. The rooms are okay. They are clearly used and obviously repaired when abused. My sink had no drain stop, I could have lost a contact down there. The shower had an inch wide ground spider fall out of the curtain, there must be food for it to get that big. The lights in the room were very good and plenty bright. The bathroom had an old tub shower with curtain. The bed sheets were comfortable, the pillows were nice, the mattress was a little stiff. The wall thermostat was not functional. When I first entered the room, the HVAC system under the window was set to AC 68 and the room was extremely cold, felt like 60 or colder. I switched it to heat to 72. The room became unbearably hot within an hour. I switched it back to AC at 70 degrees and that seemed comfortable. I wanted to go use the fitness center, but it was uselessly tiny, and not worth the effort they put in.

Location was excellent with a view of the lake and within walking distance of multiple restaurants. As all of the hotels in the area were virtually empty, we chose this location for the pool and hot tub, which we were told were broken after we arrived. Spoke to the manager- made many excuses but no offer of any consolation. I understand things happen over which they have little control but it was handled poorly and left us feeling like we were just an inconvenience to them.

Everything was great, but the hot tub wasn’t working and it was the main reason for booking that hotel.
