what happened to us at this hotel is terrible! instead of enjoying but sadness happened! we left the hotel to go on a land tour, we left the money in our suitcase, housekeeping came in to clean our rooms. it took an hour. They were the last to enter the room, we asked them to review the cctv, but they denied it. housekeeping that's 1 hour hanging out at the hotel! The owner even covered up their staff. so it's not safe in the hotel. there was a thief, we wondered why housekeeping took an hour but in another room they only took 30 minutes. and they didn't change the bedings, they didn't fix the cleaning but it took an hour. We didn't see anyone else on the cctv when they came in last time. We went to the police and they made a blotter and their statement was different. The hotel is okay, clean and beautiful. but from their house keeping staff we know that they lied, their statements to the police were different

The issue I had here was with housekeeping. On the first day, they kept knocking, wanting to clean my room, and I eventually allowed them in even if I wanted to rest. On the second day, they disturbed me again while I was asleep early in the morning. I opened the door in my bath towel and told them to come back later, but they still insisted on entering to check the mini-fridge. This lack of respect for privacy was horrible and completely ruined my stay.

Couldn't fault Kalipay! The magic of the stay was in the details, from the distilled water cooler in the room to the bag to take island hopping to the choice of pillows. Despite being in a prime location in the centre of the action, the hotel is a little oasis of calm and the pool and garden are lovely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and I felt safe and welcomed as a solo traveller. Would definitely recommend!

It's located in the heart of General Luna. Its rooms, while not many, stand out more for being a studio apartment than a simple room. That is, it has a (large) refrigerator, a free bottle of drinking water, a sofa, a table, an electric kettle, reusable bottles, a television, a balcony, and everything you could want to enjoy your stay. The reception desk also has board games and cards for free, which will be useful in case of those occasional downpours that can happen in Siargao. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. They also rent motorcycles and bicycles, arrange tours, and arrange transfers to and from the airport. They do EVERYTHING right! In your room, you'll find a notebook with all the necessary information about Siargao. The best restaurants, bars, tours, attractions, etc. I highly recommend taking a look at this notebook. It's very helpful. It has a small pool, but it's perfectly in keeping with the hotel's location. The atmosphere here is very peaceful and relaxed. You're within walking distance of everything, but we recommend renting some transportation and you'll always be in touch with all the bars and restaurants nearby. It was a wonderful experience in Siargao, an island we loved! And even more so after staying in Kalipay. Thank you for everything! We hope to return. Greetings from Argentina 🙂

Kalipay was in the best location ever, yet also like a sanctuary of peace! It helped that there weren’t too many guests when we were there too (as we were just at the beginning of the season). The staff were absolutely lovely and helped us book all of our motorbikes, transfers & surf lessons. We had the reception number on WhatsApp so if our plans changed we could easily contact them to help us - honestly, it took all the faff out of the holiday and meant we could really enjoy ourselves. The room was gorgeous and so big for 2 people! Great shower, air con or a ceiling fan, super comfy bed (if you prefer a slightly harder memory foam feel) & complimentary drinking water and tea. There was also a mini fridge of snacks which you did need to pay extra for but we enjoyed this to have a sweet treat post dinner! There are great drink / dinner options within a 2 minute walk, or 5 minute motorbike ride. We would recommend CEV for amazing ceviche (we went twice) & Goodies did a great cocktail. We also ate breakfast and lunch at Kalipay once and enjoyed both meals. Thank you so much to the Kalipay team - we’d come back in a heartbeat! Emma & Ed
