Good hotel but unfriendly restaurant staff
This time we tried the Chateau Gbelany during our stay in Zilin. The building is beautiful, the hotel area is very clean and rooms are very spacious. Check-in was quite quick and the bathroom-products of high quality (L'Occitane).
We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were shocked by the unfriendly staff & service level provided. Besides frequently hearing that the restaurant would close the kitchen in 5 minutes - at 20:30 - (not willing to wait for guests to decide on the menu), we never saw any employees in the restaurants smiling, talking in a friendly tone with guests or asking if more drinks would have been welcome. Instead of this, the music was turned off, lights were switched off and staff went home while we were still having dinner. I never experienced something like this before and would not be able to recommend anyone to have dinner at Hotel Chateau Gbelany. All other places have better service and food - unfortunately (due to many international companies around) - was too overpriced. Even higher than in Vienna/Munich downtown area.
