A wonderful three night stay at Vale de Ferreiros.. exactly what we were looking for - a peaceful, tranquil few days. We received a lovely welcome from Catarina on reception and all the staff really cared about us throughout our stay. The food was homecooked and delicious with a lovely choice each day, with delicious homemade lemonade served at lunch and dinner and superb fresh pastries and fruit at breakfast. Our bedroom was lovely with good a/c, plus several outdoor spaces to relax and unwind. A lovely pool to enjoy, restaurant within walking distance, and for those combining their stay with horse riding lessons - wow - amazing! can't wait to return!

Small “hotel” (accommodation across several houses) in the central region of Portugal. Located in the small village of Pego. Was there for horse riding lessons. Good: Peaceful location Nice views of surrounding fields/nature Comfortable accommodation Could be better: Food was quite minimal - best to talk to the staff or reception to ask for what you want otherwise it can be tricky. Would be nice to have refreshments in the communal area through the day (eg lemonade and cake/fruits) The swimming pool water wasn’t cleaned every day so there were bugs in Couple of small local restaurants are available within walking distance in Pego and there is also a small supermarket and the pharmacy if you don’t have a car.
