We loved being right on the ***** … We stayed 1 night and then decided to stay again the next night … It was very nice to see the people enjoying their job .. Breakfast was the best home made biscuits and gravy… ☺️♥️

The hotel is in a good location. It's not new but it's fine. The biggest problem is your booking for the room. You also get charged for parking and service fees. Expect to pay $30 to whatever they decide to charge you for the extras at check in. I HATE HIDDEN FEES

The last time we visited this hotel, the door was left wide opened before we got to the room? Given a key & told to go to this room & the door was opened & bugs were all over the place inside? We did ask for a differ room, but early am, we could hear the staff & the rolling out with th cart/carts right outside our door, but we hadn't had a problem last time we were there, where we were so surprised this time?

I have stayed in this hotel the last few times we have vacationed in gatlinburg and it has always been clean and a bit better on price than others on the *****. If I had to complain about anything, its that the toilet in the bathroom in this room we stayed in had a strong urine smell, but everything else was clean and tidy. Also, if you book online, be prepared to stay up on the hill in the second building. The elevator to that wasn't working from the front building and that climb up the hill was pretty hard on us. But otherwise, I would continue to stay here.

The hotel needs to be updated. We have been coming to Gatlinburg. for 40 years but have not been back to this hotel for 15 . When we came. Vincent was the manager and it was amazing. The office staff, Richie was most accommodating. We had requested the upper level, but when we got there, we found out that there was no way to get to the lower level because the elevator was out of order. We are both in our 80s and the only way to get to the lower level was down a steep hill or drive.? We spoke to one gentleman that told us his mother-in-law could barely make it up the hill nor could he…Richie put us in a room on the lower level. Mitch, also in the office was most accommodating in getting us a hairdryer and other things. Christian, the maintenance worker worked continually blowing leaves, hauling trash, and helping with rooms. These three employees need recognition, accolades, a raise. The owners need to realize what a beautiful site they have and do some major renovations.

I needed a place to stay a couple of night where I could quickly and easily get to the GSMNP to go hiking. This hotel is very close to the TN entrance. The trail I hiked was just across on the TN side of the NP. So the hotel was most convenient. I admit when i first arrived and saw tarp over the roof of the office and walking up to my room, I thought I would enter a very outdated, rundown room. Frankly, I wouldn't mind that as long as it is clean. But I was pleasantly surprised to walk into a room that was fresh and clean. Didn't look run down inside at all. Room was very spacious. I was on the second floor overlooking the river. Had a small balcony. The window would open to let the breeze in. Bed was comfortable. Room had a fireplace which I didn't expect. Didn't use it due to it not being cold. The bathroom was clean. There was a sink in the bathroom and a sink just outside the bathroom next to the door. I had only booked one night but liked the room and location so much, I booked it for a second night. Glad I did because after the lengthy hike the next day, I needed to relax and get a good night's sleep before driving back home. I had brought bath salt. So I took a nice hot bath after the hike the first evening and again the next morning before checking out. The room was quiet except for a loud commercial truck of some kind very early in the morning that woke me up. Same thing the next morning. I also selected this hotel because they had an actual breakfast. But sadly, the gravy was not that good. It was very salty the first morning and extremely thick like paste the next morning. The biscuits were good. They also had a waffle maker. The small muffins were very good as were the eggs. I wish they'd had bacon or sausage. The lady at the desk when I checked in on Saturday evening was nice. Oh and the price was right meaning it was affordable. I was able to walk to a restaurant for dinner. Other shops were easily walkable. I would definitely stay here again on the next trip. I was traveling alone and felt very safe.

I'll start with the good: the room was spacious, with a balcony outside overlooking the creek. There was an electric fireplace in the room, nice for atmosphere as well as for extra heat. Beds were comfy, there was a small fridge and microwave in the room and in room coffee. The price was very reasonable. Breakfast was provided-waffles, oj, cold cereal and milk, coffee, fruit, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Now for the not so good: safe was coming out of the wall-the door to the safe was locked anyway when we arrived, but we figured there wasn't much use trying to use it anyway. Door to the room was flimsy-we could see daylight all around it and cold air was coming in all around it. The shower, while it had been updated, had very little water pressure. Wi-Fi service was sketchy. Other details: There is a pool, but we didn't use it or even go to look at it. Howard's restaurant, right next to the hotel, was a great place for dinner. Do not leave any food or garbage in your vehicle, as bears visit regularly-we learned the hard way.
