Baskins Creek Condos

Beware not to rent here. I booked a stay with my family for a week and could not be more disappointed with the ammenities and customer service from this establishment. Two days into our stay, we have been woke up each morning by church bells and traffic because the windows are so bad they don't keep any sound out. The internet hasn't worked since we have been here, the toilet constantly runs because everything is outdated, the pool isn't open, nor is the hot tub for spring break. The customer service is an absolute joke. I went with my concerns to the front desk and they tried to work around giving me a straight answer for me wishing to leave and bring my family elsewhere, as I was only looking to get refunded for the remainder of the stay. They redirected me to their corporate hotline, and they were stalling at giving me a straight answer as well. Finally, they told me I would receive nothing if I left because I am in a legally binding contract and they would not refund the remainder of the stay. Great customer service Vacasa, holding your customers hostage to a legally binding contract when they are dissatisfied. This place is not a good choice for anyone; I would recommend highly against staying here and doing business with Vacasa ever. Lesson learned, don't let it be you.

We stayed in Room 303 in the condominium resort and it was awful. The place is dated, it has VCR’s and not internet TV’s, a corded phone on the wall even which my kids found Hilarious. There are stains, the toilet ran all night, the internet was horrible and my husband could not work but the best part was the loud church bells ringing every morning every 30mins to and hour starting at 7am. The street noise is awful and sleep was bad because of the paper thin walls. When we attempted to get our money back so we could find more comfortable lodging we were refused and ultimately were held hostage as they would not return our money. They told us that they were not responsible for the church bells or outside noise and that we signed a contract with them. Now we are stuck, unable to sleep at night, work during the day or stop the toilet from running.., if only we had packed a VHS tape we could have watched TV… the customer services was terrible and they clearly only care about taking your money and not your satisfaction. They will lock you in and hold you to the contract. Please beware and I do not recommend staying at this location. I don’t want this to happen to another family

Unusual experience - but would come back Hard to rate, had unusual circumstances. Arrived late, had hard time getting in door. Code was right but lock wouldn’t engage & open up. After 20 attempts, it magically worked. Once inside, contacted the 800 number since no one on site. maintenance person lived hour away…but (un)fortunately was already on his way b/c another family was unable to get into their room. When he showed up, spent about an hour working on handle and determined it was broken and need to be replaced in the morning. put faulty handle back in so we didn’t have an open hole in the door to hallway. Next morning no one had shown up. I went to leave and found out handle now didn’t work from the inside as well! We were locked in! I was able to call the now-staffed front desk who came over, slid some tools under the door & I was able to remove lock from the inside. He was able to get new lock installed in about an hour so we could finally be on our way to explore. When we arrived back to the unit that evening, one of the kids noticed carpet in a bedroom was extremely wet. I opened the closet door to see the heating/cooling unit. There was no drain but instead a foil pan to collect the condensation. It was now full and overflowing into the bedroom. So another phone call to maintenance, who again spent an hour vacuuming. Note all 3 maintenance guys were extremely nice & helpful. We did ask for and were given a partial refund. We can chuckle about it now. Location is great and I think we’d stay there again.

Pros: Easy walk to the parkway. Condo was furnished nicely. The condo appeared to be clean. Large rooms! Cons: mold/mildew. The minute you walk in the condo you’re hit with the smell. Struggled to make it for the two nights. Luckily we were out of the condo until late every night. Shower leaks and there is always water on the floor in the bathroom and even into the dining room when someone is in the shower. 2nd bathroom the light switch itself is loose/broke. Couldn’t shut off the light. The trim on the wall with the TV was also loose. When we reported the issue on check in, we didn’t hear anything back from the local resort property. When we left for the day I stopped and asked about an air purifier and mentioned the other problems as well and they were going to come in while we were out and fix. Nobody ever came. I really wanted to like this condo, but anyone with respiratory issues should avoid!

The property itself was immaculate. However I struggled to get in touch with anyone regarding the loss of internet service Saturday morning which never returned for the duration of the stay. It wasn't a big deal because we were out and about, but it would have been nice to have been able to cuddle up in front of the fireplace and watch a movie with my fiancee to relax after a long day. Vacasa gives you a customer service number to call but I tried it on 5 occasions over the course of a weekend and was on hold an average of 20 minutes per call and never got to speak to anyone.
