The Eagle & Child

So went in tonight after being in two other pubs with family and children. After spending an hour and being made to feel welcome, had a man come up to me and accused my and my friends children of destroying there Christmas tree, when I apologized and agreed to replace the tinsel they may have broken I was told I was being aggressive and was barred from the pub. If you don't want children in your pub please say so when we come in. Please avoid if with young children, saves being embarrassed

We stayed here end of last month as visiting family. Beautiful place, staff very friendly and quite knowledgeable of what's on. Rooms are very comfortable, yes basic but they don't pretend to be something they are not. For the price you pay for the rooms they are very good value for money.

We stayed at the Eagle and Child as were visiting family in the area. What a fantastic stay we had, bright spacious rooms, dogs allowed also which was a bonus. Tea, coffee facilities as well. Fresh towels provided when asked for. We also loved the option of a daily turn over of our room. Entertainment was on Friday and Saturday and there was adverts up about live singers on a Sunday. We will definitely be staying there again.

Popped in for a drink on route through... what a great pub, lovely atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit in my eyes. Just a shame I don't live nearer as this would definitely be my chosen local.
