Holiday Inn Dallas - Garland

I stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of April 2025 and unfortunately had a horrific and traumatizing experience. During my stay, I was bitten dozens of times by bed bugs. I woke up itching and saw faint bite marks all over my legs. This is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of cleanliness and pest control. I walked down to the front desk that morning, but the response was dismissive and unhelpful. They didn't seem surprised or apologetic. I had to request the manager's contact info so I could make a formal complaint. There was no sincere apology, no expression they would inspect the room, and no follow-up. I had to follow up with them. I did report this to the local Health Department as I was concerned for the health and safety of other guests. The Health Department emailed me saying "it’s important to note that bed bugs can be difficult to detect in early stages, and activity may still be present but not yet visible. I do hope you are ok and feeling better." This was not only uncomfortable and stressful but ruined a week of my life. I had to seek medical help, I was on medications, pills and creams to help the pain and constant itch that left me sleepless for a week and in so much discomfort I missed days of work. I urge anyone considering this hotel to think twice. Hygiene and guest safety should be a basic standard, and sadly, this property failed on both counts. In my research, this hotel has received other negative reviews of bugs crawling on sheets and guests being bitten. Look at the photos. Unfortunately, I discovered these reviews after my visit, sadly as I could've avoided a horrific situation. It's been a couple weeks and I still have marks on my legs from the bites healing. I will never stay at this hotel again and urge you to stay away for your health.

I booked a hotel in Garland Tx, ******* moved the reservation to another Holiday Inn without even contacting me first. And I had to take the toll to get there costing me more.

Unsatisfied Check in was easy and staff was friendly. We left for a bit and when we came back, our door was propped open. Nothing in our room appeared to have been touched but the hallway had a very strong odor of ********* and it was seeping into our room since it had been open. We requested a new room and was accommodated quickly. The rooms were small. The bed was very uncomfortable and sunk in the middle. Not sure about breakfast as we didn't have time to sit and wait for it as it was apparently made to order?? My husband went down to just get coffee and an employee had to take his cup back and fill it. We will never stay here again and have chosen to mark all Holiday Inns off our list due to other recent bad experiences.
