It was a weekend stay. Rooms on the ground floor are well maintained. Food can be of better quality. Service is good. Property itself is amazing but needs heavy maintenance

If you are travelling a single family, this place is not for you. There are very less things to do within property and absolute nothing outside property. The food quality was below average and you do not have any choice outside. We asked for extra mattress , and that was hard enough to add to discomfort. Rooms were not equipped when basic dental and other kits, and also no hot water kettle also provided. When thought to contact, there was no one at reception desk till 7:30 am. I am reviewing it honestly, one of the worst experience ever. The price point to experience are negatively correlated.

I'm flabbergasted at the four star reviews, which prompted me to write one. The Fort is a MOST interesting place, heritage listed. The place is filled by the current Raj's personal inherited stuff- stuffed tigers, old camera's saddles, bric a brac, old photos and more. Several photos show a previous maharaja in his Roll's Royce. The village market outside the gates of the Fort bustling dirty and fun. The current Raj inherited the place in 1927- its a time warp and all development and maintenance stopped at that time. Our room, up several flights of stairs was pretty DISGUSTING, the toilet area dirty and revolting, the bed and room smelt of cement dust, the dining table and serving mats un-wiped. The place is filthy, but interesting. To give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the other rooms had been renovated, but ours certainly wasn't. I wouldn't dream of staying there again, BUT it's a shame, the venue has HUGE potential, but would need massive upgrading and investment, tender love and care and customers.

The drive up to the Fort was stunning. It's such a beautiful building and has so much charisma and charm. We didn't get to look around the gardens properly due to it getting dark. We had a walk to see the pool, which appeared a lovely area. The interior of the hotel has lots of historical artefacts and is interesting to look around. Our room was on the second floor and overlooked the front of the hotel. The room itself was filthy & the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was horrendous, and there was a foul smell (not of sewerage). Two of our group refused to have a shower, and I kept my sliders on while showering. Due to the un cleanliness of our bedroom & bathroom, we decided not to have any breakfast the following morning as we were put off. We walked into the restaurant to tell them that we weren't going to eat and there was no staff around. I walked into what I believed was the kitchen & it was filthy. There was nobody in the office to tell of our concerns. We came across 3 polite men who worked there who assisted us with our cases. Maybe it was just our room. The building has so much potential and needs some tlc

in one word Horrible.. it doesn't even meet the basic cleanliness and hygiene that you expect while you are on a trip. the photos int he description has been taken quote intelligently but the easl issues are within the room. we had booked almost 6 rooms and one of the from got flooded due to damp in the ceiling and the room had to change but it's like from one shabby room to the other . hotel staff is rigid and unprofessional they have no empathy for guests
