Hotel Sonam Delek

I think this hotel lived its life and management is no longer interested in renovating or recruiting proper staff. Please be careful you don’t even get a proper heater during any cold season and also you don’t even see a Moisturising in the bathroom. You also will be treated so badly by the staff and everything expect for the price what you pay will be treated like a favour by the staff. You always need to tell exact time of your arrival for breakfast. Otherwise you need to eat the same cold food cooked before 15 minutes during a peak cold day. They also don’t care if you cancel your stay in between the holiday and move to another hotel. Pure arrogance. Furniture is at least 25 years old and you will go deep inside the sofa and bed as the spring effects are already gone. If you are lucky Geysers will work. Does not matter what you pay. Pathetic property and bad service

The hotel sonali delek is a very good property to stay with family and friends. The rooms are well furnished with an attached balcony from where the kanchenjungha view is just amazing. One can sit in the balcony chair and enjoy the tea with the kanchanjungha view. You can go to the mg market by walk in 5-10 mins and also get the cabs easily. The hotel also offers indian and chinese food starting from breakfast to dinner. You do not need to go outside for good food. The hotel staffs are too polite and humble and always ready to help guests. They will also help you to get the cab service for your tour.

Hospitality, fooding, lodging, house keeping and above all courtesy of the staff are excellent in son-am delek.

Hotel is located in heart of the town, very close to M.G. Market. at a walkable distance. This gives ample of time to explore the shops, restaurants, hotels, etc. at MG Market. Rooms are tidy and clean, the food served is tasty & fresh. The view of mighty Kanchenjunga peak from the balcony of the rooms in early mornings is spectacular. Special thanks to Reception Managers Mr.Pronoy Thapa and Ms.Sukmaya Begha for all the courtesies extended to us during our 4 day stay.

This year we decided to visit Sikkim. So from Kolkata we travelled to Siliguri, Kalimpong, Gangtok and finally Namchi and back. We reached Gangtok on 23rd May. We stayed at Sonam Delek for 3 nights and I cannot tell you what beautiful stay it was. I was travelling with my Mother, Sister and our three kids. We had booked three apartment suites. I have travelled to many places in the past, but I have never been so mesmerized with the way the rooms were made and decorated. The rooms had this beautiful positive energy and had the most spectacular view from all three sides. The staff at the hotel are very helpful. There is a restaurant within the hotel and the food is quite good. The chef here cooks excellent North Indian food. If you are a vegetarian, you have nothing to worry about. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Gangtok. I definitely will plan another trip soon.
