The Meru Hotel

Very disappointing place and service when we reached to here. At the beginning while booking on call, we were made to feel as if we were being given a very good discount. But in reality it wasn't worth staying even 1 night if you are from a decent family. Room had no A/C and we were told there was no need. And said they would provide a room heater if needed. So we said ok before we saw the room. Then the room was old and had dirty floors and stained sheets, pillows covers and curtains. Cold blanket and bed due to moisture. When we asked to change the sheets and covers, the helper said no need and said it still had iron crease. At night it really was cold and we didn't have our own vehicle, so it was hard for us to change another hotel with the luggages. Therefore we asked for a room heater. They sent a pathetic burnt small foot blower for the room. When asked for hot tea, the guy at the reception said it wasn't possible due to having many customers. What a horrible experience it was for us. We are never going back to Gangtok again. No good hospitality for us. So for those giving good reviews, I don't know why they were not good to us. Pathetic experience with dirty rooms. Poor service and very minimal breakfast options. The staffs are rude and non-coperative. The location is good as it is very near to mg marg.

Pathetic Hotel with dirty rooms, worst breakfast and rude hotel staffs. The only advantage is that it is near to MG Marg. The Hotel is managed by the owner himself without any Receptionists and few untrained staffs. Not recommended for business travellers.

Good but room is not spacious, there is no towel, also there is no electric cattle for boiling water

The rooms are fine but there is no heater and slippers hot water is not sufficient room service is bad

Fave hotel near mg marg. Taxi stand mg marg only 1 min walking distance. Hotel room also clean and clear. Mountain view room fav. Ambience food quality is also fav.
