Sunhills Mikawawan

The food was creative, but quite tasty. However, in the past, the portions and variety of food were so large that it was hard to finish it all. This time, the quality and quantity was a little poor, which was disappointing. There were also two big negative points. Even though the coronavirus has been classified as a Class 5 virus, influenza is also spreading. I think screens and shields are still necessary. And the display shelf to the right of the cafeteria entrance is dusty and pale white. I think only the people eating right next to it will notice. Please clean this up immediately!

We stayed in a room with an observation bath. The views from the lobby and the room were beautiful. We were blessed with good weather, and the sunset and sunrise were beautiful. The room was well cleaned, but the ceiling in the bathroom was terribly stained with what looked like mold, which was a shame considering it was a great bath. If it's difficult to clean, I think the atmosphere would change if they repainted it with something like anti-mold paint. We had the "Kaiko" plan for our meal. The live abalone was good, but a little on the small side. The sashimi also didn't seem fresh, which was disappointing.

We chose a Japanese-Western style room with a panoramic hot spring for our couple's anniversary, and the view and facilities were better than we expected. The indoor and outdoor baths at the inn had a slippery water quality that we liked, so it was worth coming. When we went to the dining area for dinner, we were relieved to see that a number tag was attached to our footwear, and since it was our anniversary, we were satisfied with the Kaiko plan for dinner, and for breakfast, we were served a Japanese meal with Nagoya Cochin chicken, which we couldn't help but eat over rice (it was delicious). From the panoramic hot spring in the room, the view of Mikawa Bay and the sunset were amazing. We will use it again.

This is an average rating, but in a good sense. The grilled abalone was quite large, which was impressive. Breakfast was also delicious. This time, there were many guests with small children, so couples who want to eat quietly in the dining area may find it annoying. The open-air bath was available to us in the late evening, as it was all to ourselves, so we were able to relax very comfortably. The front desk staff and waiters were very polite. Overall, we were able to relax without having to worry too much.

The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were all really polite, and they were considerate of us being foreigners, and explained things slowly and clearly. The hot spring felt great. The kids were thrilled to get loads of umaibo and ice cream in the dice game. It was my father's first trip to a hot spring, but he got used to it and said he hoped we could come again. We had a great time. We're looking forward to soaking in the hot springs again in the cold season.

Every year in early summer and late autumn, I take my elderly parents on a trip, and this time I visited here. The location is at the top of a steep hill that leads up the mountain from the Mitani Onsen intersection. There is a Family Mart convenience store 1-2 minutes away in the direction of Nagoya. Because it is located on a hill, you can see Mikawa Bay and Takeshima from the lounge and the ocean-facing rooms. Our room was room 316, a Japanese-style bedroom on the mountain side. Because it is on the corner of the building, we could barely see the ocean. The hot spring water supply facility was damaged in heavy rain about 10 days ago, so the large public bath on the day was boiled water, but the indoor bath is large compared to the number of rooms, so we were able to take a leisurely bath even though it seemed to be almost full. We had dinner and breakfast at a table in the hall on the same floor as the large public bath. Both breakfast and dinner were served as set menus, and both were very satisfying. The beer was my favorite, Premium Malts, both draft and bottled. Two room keys were provided, and there were slipper clips in the bath. The atmosphere is similar to that of the public lodging facility Kyuka Mura, but when you consider the quality and quantity of food and the cost of accommodation, this may be the winner. Prices vary depending on the dinner course and the room you choose, but we had the standard dinner (which came with small grilled abalone, and was very filling), and with the nationwide discount, it came to just over 10,000 yen per person. This time, I gave it a 4 star rating because there was a problem with the bath and the furnishings in the room were a little damaged, but it is a good lodging with excellent value for money.
