Service by the hotel staff was pretty decent and the front desk can converse in English. The room was clean and pretty well maintained considering the age of the hotel.

Absolutely beautiful historic location across from the island temple shrine. Views were phenomenal, access is o the area from the hotel was wonderful. Food was amazing, dining room is beautiful, the hotel is beautiful. Included breakfast were delicious and large portions with traditional or western breakfast options available. 

Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. I felt that it was carefully made. The room had an old-fashioned feel, but it was clean. I would definitely like to stay there again.

The environment is very good, the dining service in the hotel is so good that it makes people embarrassed

The building, the garden, and the ocean view from the window make it a memorable hotel. First of all, I was fascinated by the view of the hotel from the parking lot. I thoroughly enjoyed the carefully crafted wooden furnishings, such as the first-floor lobby and elevators. When I entered the room, I was fascinated by the view of Takeshima and the sea, which clearly appeared in the rain pattern. Amenities made in France are also fascinated by the good scent. The next day, we had coffee and tea service from 6:30 in the morning. Just one more step, new curtains in the restaurant, and a well-maintained garden that is easy to walk in, and everything will be perfect ❣️

For the past few years, I have been staying at a hotel group called Classic Hotels. Gamagori Classic Hotel was the last one, but it was the most disappointing hotel. Excuse me, but it was a "mountain general" type of hotel. I guess it's because they don't have any competitors around them that they don't understand. 1. There is a hotel at the top of the hill, but the wall in the most noticeable area is sadly dirty. 2. Apparently there was a wedding, and the reception desk remained in the main lobby for two days. It must have been difficult to clean up, but I thought they were staying at a wedding hall specialty store. 3. There was a table where you could write a nice letter, but the tablecloth was full of stains. 4. The insect repellent screen in the bathroom was so worn out that bugs could get in. 5. The hotel shop had a good selection, but the way the products were arranged was poor. Sad 6. Even though there are only a few rooms, the rooms are not cleaned properly (there was hair in each drawer). 7. There is a hotel archive hanging on the wall, but there are explanations but no photos. 8. The younger staff members are timid, and the older staff are arrogant. 9. The restrooms on the second floor should be cleaned more often. All of this may seem trivial, but although it is a historic hotel, it is not being utilized to the fullest. I think if you take good care of it, it will become a really nice hotel. I would like to stay again when there are no more reviews like mine. I hope there is a next one.

Although it is a scenic spot and has been visited by many famous writers, the hotel has had a strange fate, with management changing hands many times. Still, it was classy, ​​there was a lounge with a view of Takeshima, and the main French cuisine was good (the staff were young, but they were knowledgeable about wine and the history of the hotel, so I enjoyed it). However, since the lounge is called "Azalea", the azalea season is probably the best time to visit. There was a slight smell in the room, probably related to the air conditioner. Regarding the point that others have pointed out that there are no postcards, I received one as a free gift for the questionnaire.

I've been to classic hotels, but compared to the other hotels (Fujiya Hotel, Kanaya Hotel, Nara Hotel, Hotel New Grand), I got the impression that they were small and calm. There are no exhibits that tell the history of the hotel or the stories left behind in the building. Because it is on a hill, the view is good, and you can see Takeshima and the sea very well! Also, the elevator is one of the highlights. It may be unsatisfactory as a classic hotel tour, but I think it is a hotel that is easy to stay. What I didn't like: The light in the bathroom was dusty... The envelope that should have been in the binder with the notes on the room wasn't there. (It only contained stationery. It would have been nice to have a postcard as well.)

I've wanted to visit for a long time, but due to the locality of Gamagori, I somehow missed the opportunity. It's a comfortable hotel that doesn't make you feel like you're at a high threshold. I was. The food is also orthodox French. The abalone and spiny lobster that I suddenly ordered on the day were also prepared, and I had a delicious meal with the staff who worked hard to serve me.

I came to Gamagori three years ago and was intrigued by the stately building that could be seen from Takeshima jutting out into Mikawa Bay, so I went there and had tea at a classic hotel. Since then, I've been thinking about staying there, and then I started seeing it on location for TV dramas, so I decided to stay. On the day I made the reservation, the twin rooms on the ocean side overlooking Mikawa Bay were fully booked, so I decided to go for a suite room. The classical atmosphere, which is different from the latest hotels, allowed me to spend a relaxing time. For dinner, I had a teppanyaki menu at Rokkakudo in a separate building. The chef's fun conversation and performance, along with the delicious teppanyaki food, were as satisfying as I expected. I actually wanted to come during the azalea season that colors the garden, but the only thing I regret is that I was a week late.

I wanted to stay in a classic hotel, anyway. Among them, hotels with a view of the sea (hotels that can be seen from the sea). It's nice to be able to walk from the station. It's a steep slope to the entrance. The staff are at home. Dinner was a beef cutlet course in the main dining room. The French course is often too much to eat, but it's just the right amount, and it's more delicious than I expected, so I'm impressed. I also like the wine recommended by the sommelier Ito. However, there was no bar, and when I was wondering what to do at night, I ordered a whiskey set from room service. I drank it while watching the sea at night! 4 stars because there was no bar where you can drink slowly. that's all. Cozy 💖

The month of visit was August 2021. I stayed with my family and parents. The room was old-fashioned and I was expecting the bathroom to be up-to-date, but the room had a worn-out Showa-era feel, and there was a few millimeters of dust on the upper edge of the door, which was disappointing. The bathroom and toilet in the room were new and nice. The tea and breakfast area, which was on the second floor, was quite nice. It had a vintage feel that was different from the Showa-era feel I had imagined. The breakfast staff left a good impression. Dinner was not bad at all, and I felt it was a bit of a downside compared to the price. Not bad. But 900 yen for a small bottle of beer was too much. The staff was average. Depending on the grade, there may be rooms with a nice atmosphere, so I won't include it in the rating, but what about the dust that has accumulated on the door edge... Please clean it up. Rating 3.

As expected, it was a stately hotel where members of the imperial family stayed. In the lobby, there is a work by Shoen Uemura, a classic Japanese chandelier, and an exhibition of dinner sets that have been used for generations. Lunch is a traditional course, but calm.
