The room service is good but the hotel is a bit old. There are bars downstair but the noise is acceptable with the window closed.

Would highly recommend the residence hotel for any trip to Galway city. The staff went above and beyond from the time we arrived right up to our departure. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is right in the middle of the activities. The bar next door is a great spot for food and live music which is an added bonus. Five stars all around from our part of three and can’t wait to return

Great location in the heart of galway. Lovely clean rooms and comfortable beds. Bar attached to the hotel had great live music. Definitely recommend booking if you want to be near the action in galway. I will be back for sure.

If you don’t mind being up all night with noises outside your window then this is the place for you. It was incessant the noises outside our window. All kinds of machinery like dump trucks or garbage trucks. I don’t know what was going on but it went on all night long. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking to get a good nights sleep

This was one of the worst stays at a hotel in my life. First they have the nerve to charge $300 for half of a room. I could touch the walls from each side of the bed and a diagonal wall cut off the bottom half of our room. They note on their website that there might be “some noise at night.” The loud music and thumping of the instruments rattled our walls until 2:00 a.m. How can they treat guests like that!?!? Then housekeeping decided to barge into our room at 8:00 a.m. in the morning without even knocking first. The desk attendant was extremely rude when we attempted to complain on the morning of our checkout. It seems as if she constantly hears complaints as she was so quick to shut us down. I will be copying and pasting this review on every travel site I can find! Avoid room 105!

Das Hotel ist einfach nur großartig. Alle die hier arbeiten sind super nett und zuvorkommend. Unser Zimmer ist wunderschön. Die Gardinen haben den Raum komplett abgedunkelt. Es ist mitten in der Stadt im Latin quarter und man kann alles schnell erreichen.

If you enjoy being in the middle of the action, the Residence Hotel is the spot for you. It's smack in the middle of the Latin Quarter, right above busy bars, restaurants, and touristy gift shops. The rooms were clean, modern, so stylish and the beds were VERY comfortable. Our window opened up right over Quay Street and we enjoyed it. The hotel does warn that its location means there will be quite a bit of nightlife noise that filters into the rooms but that didn't faze us. We were so tired from our travels that we just put in ear plugs and knocked right out! So if you book here, don't complain about the noise, you should know what you're getting yourself into!
