A magnificent stay that blew us away! Liked · The hotel totally blew us away upon arrival. Steeped in history and a knowledgeable Concierge (Aaron) who can tell you it all. The rooms were magnificent, again steeped in history. Great comfortable bed and very clean room. Breakfast was amazing, cooked fresh when ordered from a menu. Location to the The Strand was within easy walking distance and a short car journey to the Port. Ideal place to stay if travelling around or pre/post Cruise. Staff were all super friendly. Loved the informal get together at 4pm with other guests. We were all from a number of different places. Would stay here again without a shadow of a doubt. Communication before the stay was great too.

Room was very small with little storage, a chest of drawers would have been nice out some more drawers in the nightstands. Bed was not comfortable, mattress well worn. No mirror in the room, only in the bathroom. Breakfast was limited to a single rasher of bacon with a small portion of scrambled eggs and half a muffin . No cereal, yogurt toast etc Card was pre authorized 6 months before visit and full payment taken before we arrived at the property.

COMES WITH BAGGAGE ISSUES
These folks work hard to take care of the customer. That said, I likely would only stay there again if I were living out of a backpack. There is no elevator or lift to provide for getting bags to the room. Parking is on-the-street curbside. There is a couple of steps up from the curb, more steps to the gate, way more steps to the porch, thus luggage of any weight becomes an issue. There is only one room on the lowest floor so the rest of the guest must climb more stairs to get to their room. The facility is nicely done with good attention to the rooms. If I were traveling light luggage-wise, I would not hesitate to stay there. The happy hour, carriage rides, morning breakfast, low parking price during cruise plus shuttle to and from the cruise terminal are all positives. The staff is friendly and helpful. If they solve the luggage issue, it could be a very attractive venue.
