Royal Holiday Motel by Belvilla Gallup I-40

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times. For the money it is fair. One problem that has always been present is the fact that their "breakfast" is non existent. Compared to other similar priced and rated motel/hotel establishments I stay at this one is the PITTS! Almost non-existent, Others have waffle or Pancake machines, Most have toast, scrambled eggs or omlets, or oatmeal, etc. Selection of fresh fruit, yogurt or even fresh donuts are not available. Very Very skimpy selection at best. Why they even list "breakfast is beyond me.

During the second week of June2024, my most favorite #1 son and I were moving much of his household from Mountain ViewCA-USA to HoustonTX-USA, which required overnighting in several communities along the way. One such location was the ROYAL HOLIDAY MOTEL, GallupNM-USA. It was one of my favorites because our room was located on the ground floor, on the South row facing North, which meant no climbing of stairs for me! Checking in was easy; all major cards are accepted, and today’s modern internet speeds up the whole process! The mattresses are nice and firm, reception is friendly and, since we had had a delicious meal (Oasis Mediterranean Restaurant), I was ready to get a necessary good night’s rest! This wonderful hotel appears dated—as do most of the heritage hotels-motels along the “mother road”/historic Route 66/business I-40/route 318–and give all travellers that needed place to lay their heads for the night. The next morning, whilst making my way to the lobby for brekkie, the owner/operator immediately empathized with me, for she herself had a similar limp. I felt great relief/confirmation as she repeatedly told me “NO SURGERY” and shared with me how she’d made powder from Tumeric root to ingest daily. I haven’t quite gotten to that level of creativity (yet), but understood exactly what she meant because of my own bulk consumption of the processed powder. Besides this nice nook being available to all guests, I could look across the noteworthy highway and see several tracks, with trains rolling East & West through the pass. If I listened, I was able to clearly distinguish the different vehicles operating: (motor)cars/(motor)trucks/or train cars being sorted into long trains, none of which I heard in the room, though the occasional siren or plane passing overhead might creep in. I was quite pleased with the low cost of this hotel, and know you too will be captivated by the serenity which pervades it, especially on the ground floor. It certainly has my coveted “iWheel of Approval!”

The two most important things to me in an affordable motel are cleanliness and plumbing. The first thing I noticed was how clean the room was, and the plumbing was totally fine. A couple of minor inconveniences, but that is to be expected.

Ideal to crash and follow a trip the following morning. I was able to check in around midnight. Convenient price and location. I had no issues with the bed and bathroom. I parked right in front of the room so that was convenient too. Gas station nearby

The owner were fabulous and so caring that we were safe. Told us about Ice maker. Direction to local store and what time breakfast would be. Great place to stay. They let your little pets or big ones also stay her.

All the comforts of other motels we stayed at on this road trip through Az.,Utah, and NM. and at a very competitive room rate. The owners are very kind and the room was clean. Thank you for the hospitality!

The staff was very friendly and Accommodating. The room was cozy and beds were comfortable. We couldn’t figure out how to work the television and the staff came right away to help show us how to work the remote control. Complete operator error nothing wrong with the television.

The owners are super nice and accommodating. The place is older, but everything was very clean and functional. They had the heater running in our room for us before we got there. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. The parking lot is fenced in with cameras, a nice thing given this is in Gallup.

The building is sad and needs renovation but inside the room it was adequate. The bathrooms are outdated but at least there's warm water.
