Galle Kalegana Hotels

The manager is well educated and the young staff are very good. The station, fortress and bus terminal are within walking distance. There are shops around which are like station front, and it is very lively. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar, making it a prominent place in the city. The shower is hot enough and the cooler works. I recommend it for your gratitude.

This hotel is located in quiet area apart away several minutes walk from Main Street. Except this, service, hospitality, room, cleanliness are perfect. Although this hotel is a bit old because of renovation of someone’s house, it doesn’t matter for me. I never hesitate to stay at this hotel again when I come back. Breakfast is good enough too. A very reasonable hotel!

這家位置比較偏僻，需要坐突突車上山，不過總體也不遠。酒店衞生、服務總體還不錯，餐食一般，但是booking上9.9的評分還是過高了些，9分左右吧。比較好的是床比較硬，適合腰椎間盤突出不適的人。

Apartments were so large. There was a private kitchen with some fridge, kettle. The room was pretty clean. There was an aircon inside and fan (aircon usage is charging 1000 lkr extra). Bedsheets were clean as well. They also provide a towel. As for bath and toilet it was also pretty clean. There was hot water but no shampoo/shower gel in bath cabins. There was only one hanger inside and toilet paper as well. As for cold drinking water they don't provide it. Internet connection was pretty stable. Located in 15-20 mins walking distance from Galle fort. The staff was accomodating and helpful.

Departed for Sri Lanka on September 28, 2023, and checked into the Amangalla Hotel in Galle Fort. It was the sixth Aman hotel to check in. It felt great. Amangalla was built in the 17th century. It was formerly a military command in the Netherlands. It later became the first hotel in Sri Lanka. It was acquired by the Aman Group in 1995. The hotel is not big, but it is well-equipped with swimming pools, massage pools, yoga rooms, etc. , you can experience local shaving services and foot massages. Amangalla is the smallest Aman I have ever stayed in. It is in the middle of the ancient city of Galle and a 10-minute walk from the lighthouse. The surrounding area is very convenient for eating, drinking and entertainment. There is the Tuna and the Crab restaurant, which is a brother restaurant of the one-Michelin-star restaurant in Colombo. If you have enough money, you can try it. Be sure to choose his tea plantation tour, which will also take you to see the sea turtle hatching base and stilt fishing. It was very interesting. Although I fell off and stepped on a rock while fishing on stilts and was injured, I gained interesting photos and a rare life experience. The ancient city of Galle is also worth visiting. Amangalla can arrange cars and tour guides. The hotel is right in the center of the ancient city. The location is good and it is very convenient to go everywhere. Although I fell into the sea while fishing on stilts and cut my feet. All in all, it was still a very interesting experience. The two Amans in Sri Lanka are different from the ones we stayed in before. They are far away from Colombo and do not provide free airport pick-up services. The airport pick-up fee for the five of us was about US$400 in a large amanganla. It should be noted that if two Aman activities are booked for consecutive days, they generally need to be booked from the official website, not Ctrip agents.

非常漂亮的豪宅，設施齊全，還有洗衣機、洗衣粉，太棒了！地理位置也很好，就在古城裡麪。不過由於是民宿類型，當天入住的時候需要我們司機幫忙打電話，工作人員才從其他地方跑過來幫忙開門，有一點不太方便。但除此以外其他東西都是很完美的。
