The place is lovely, the service is hard but a little unreliable. Clean, welcoming, the room is large and the space is comfortable. It is 2 kilometers away from the ancient city, but it is also very fast to call a taxi.

The 4 day culmination of our3 week Sri lankan trip , what a choice. We loved this hotel great location, basically private beach, incredible staff, great food and absolutely perfect final choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive friendly staff. Brilliant food, highly recommend the private beach bbq. The best sunset view . Close to the amazing forte. Loved could have stayed here an extra ‘unwind week’ .

We have stayed five nights at cocobay. And booked another 6 nights. We are currently staying at this wonderful place. If you are looking for a place to stay. Book here. It offers a relaxing and comfortable experience. With a private beach and calm seas. The staff are perfect and super welcoming and friendly. 10/10 would give more if possible. We love it here. The staff were amazing and the welcome wonderful. There is a great selection and quality of food and the views from our room across the water were wonderful. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel. The pool was crystal clear with plenty of sun loungers at the private beach.

One of few hotels with its almost private beach. Boutique but a little rough around the edges - so what if nothing is perfect - this isn’t Maldives. Great food, really friendly staff. No loud music and respectful guests. They are offering a great product, that’s why guests return. Easy tuktuk to busier area and boats to take you elsewhere. We were genuinely sad to leave.

Totally agree with most reviews in that this hotel is a good solid 4 star hotel on a lovely quiet safe beach but agree its maybe not 5 star. We liked it so much that we changed plans after our 4 night stay to return there( after a short side trip to Yala NP ) for an additional night there en route to Colombo. We liked the balcony rooms but be warned there are no lifts at the hotel and we were on the top floor which meant several flights of stairs. Also although we would have liked the jacuzzi bath it was just too big to get in and out of it safely which was a shame. Half board did mean a set evening meal which was better some nights than others but breakfast was always good. We very much liked the friendly and helpful staff at the hotel both on reception and in the restaurant and also particularly Chamara the lifeguard and pool attendant. What was useful for us was that the hotel could arrange a driver called Ryan both to take us to Yala and collect us at a much better price than we had been quoted by both the Yala hotel and the Colombo hotel and he was excellent and very accommodating when we wanted to do a couple of small detours en route namely to go to a local shop selling tea and to go to see Unawatuna town beach . As mentioned there are tuktuk drivers waiting just 5 minutes from the hotel to get to Galle and Unawatuna etc and after one tuktuk driver kindly took us for free over a very large puddle after a downpour when we were walking to the main road we took up his offer to take us by car to Colombo and this worked out well. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return one day

Отдых в отеле был одним из лучших! Весь персонал очень приветливый и доброжелательный. Отдельное спасибо хотим сказать работнику ресепшен Упулу, который помогал нам в решении любых наших проблем. Отдельно хочется отметить и спасателя на пляже. Молодой человек не только следил за порядком и чистотой на пляже и в бассейнах, но и обучал серфингу и сапсерфингу. На время отдыха у нас был постоянный водитель, которого тоже порекомендовал Упул. Номера чистые, кондиционер работал, джакузи белоснежное, уборка каждый день.
