Wunderschönes koloniales Anwesen in der Hügeln um Kandy. Mit viel Aufwand wurde hier ein altes koloniales Anwesen restauriert, dass maximal 10 Personen beherbergen kann. Große, gut ausgestattete Zimmer mit Terrasse und ein tolles Bad. Das Essen wird auf der Hauptterrasse beim Pool serviert. Das Abendessen ist ausgezeichnet und der Service perfekt. Die Preise sind für Sri Lanka hoch, aber es wird auch viel geboten. Für mich nicht ganz verständlich, durfte unser Fahrer das Anwesen nicht betreten !? Trotzdem, wer es sich leisten kann, sollte hier ein paar Tage genießen.

What a lovely find. A beautiful place with a great pool and the most lovely staff. The room was huge, and the food just great. It's about 45 minutes to an hour outside Kandy by taxi, so a perfect place from which to explore the city and retreat to a peaceful place at the end of the day.

Relaxing and invigorating. The hotel is set among palm trees with views to the hills over Kandy. After a swim, we relaxed around the stunning pool and had freshly baked cake and cups of tea. The food is delicious, and the kitchen cooks everything to order. Bedrooms are comfortable and stylish. David, our charming host, has filled the library and sitting area with beautiful artworks and curios. Staff are warm and helpful. Can't recommend highly enough.

Flame Tree Estate continues to develop . David works tirelessly alongside his cohort to maintain and improve the already excellent facilities. The location overlooking the jungle is beautiful and the gardens are designed to make you feel that you are in a well manicured part of it. The menu continues to grow and is now very flexible in its choices of local and international food. A great place to relax but also convenient for a visit to the sights of Kandy. The staff of course are friendly and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit especially missing the delightful dogs.

We spent 3 nights at this beautiful boutique hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. David’s eye for interior design, delightful and attentive staff and delicious food makes this a very special place indeed. We wouldn’t use love to come back!

Just WOW! I have to say this is the most beautiful hotel i’ve EVER stayed in and i’ve stayed in a few! You have to see it to understand what an incredible job David (English owner) has done with the estate. The view from the pool just cannot be beaten, the sounds of the jungle are dreamy. The staff, all of them, incredible! I watched David interacting with the staff and he was always very curteous, which is important to me. What I loved anout this luxury stay was they didn’t rip you off with the cost of the food & alcohol! It was all very reasonable and the breakfast which was included was a feast! I just cannot recommend this place enough! David has 5 minature schnauzer dogs that rome around the property which makes Flame Tree estate even more characteristic! You can do a 30 minute or 90 minute estate walk through the jungle. We did the 30 minute one as it had been raining quite a lot and it was lovely. We were warned we may come across leeches so went prepared with salt! Indeed we got to a certain point and out of nowhere they started attaching themselves to our legs. The salt removed them in seconds and I actually loved the experience ha ha! Not every day you can say you’ve walked through the jungle and had leech encounters! Bravo all round to this gem. We will definitely be back!

Beautifully located not far from Kandy in an idyllic spot which allows complete and utter relaxation. We booked privately with Angelos the manager. Communication excellent which follows through to during your stay where the staff are all very attentive without being intrusive. We were half board and the food was amazing. The owner David sets the vibe with his wonderful description of the property he exquisitely renovated. And his passion for Sri Lanka topped with a mindful of local knowledge make him certainly the host with the most.
