I’ve been here for a while and it’s been pretty stable for me and my mom. Nothing too crazy or bad, it’s pretty stable. The staff are nice, the breakfast in the morning is useful, I like the outside seatings and stuff, I like that they clean rooms. And yeah, overall decent experience.

04/07/25 I strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel. For 10 years, I chose Extended Stay America – Gaithersburg South, because of its convenient location, and during that time, we never had any complaints. All that changed in September 2024. We booked a five-night stay, and were assigned a comfortable room on the third floor. We were on a business trip, and had to transport heavy equipment daily. On the first morning, as we were leaving for work, we discovered that the elevator was out of order. This forced us to carry all our equipment down three flights of stairs. I have herniated discs in my lumbar spine and two artificial knees, making this both painful and dangerous. When I asked the front desk when the elevator would be repaired, I was told it would be fixed the following day. However, five days came and went—and the elevator was never repaired. It was absolute torture hauling our equipment up and down those stairs. One morning, I even encountered an elderly, visually impaired woman struggling to navigate the stairwell. I took her arm and guided her down safely—but I was left wondering how she would have managed alone. A working elevator is not a luxury—it is ESSENTIAL to the functioning of a hotel. What if paramedics had needed to reach the second or third floors? How would they get a gurney upstairs? The elevator repair should have been treated as a top priority. Management should have done whatever it took to resolve the issue immediately—but that clearly was not the case. I exchanged emails with Natasha Butler, the General Manager, requesting a partial credit due to the non-functioning elevator and the physical strain it caused. My request was completely ignored. This experience was unacceptable, and I will never stay at this location again. Management’s lack of urgency, empathy, and communication was deeply disappointing.
