The room is old, but the facilities are complete and you can cook. I stayed there for more than a month. I had a simple breakfast every day, including fruit, coffee, bread, cereal, milk, etc. The service staff were very good. Facilities: old Hygiene: average Environment: average Service: very good

My daughter was interning at a company near the hotel, so she stayed here for 28 days. It was very convenient to cook because there were full kitchen facilities. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to I-270, many dining and shopping options nearby, and the Shady Grove Metro station is also nearby, with easy access to Washington, DC. The free hot and cold breakfast was delicious and varied. The staff kept the seating area clean. During the stay, you can go to the front desk to change towels and replenish paper towels. The front desk will also help receive express packages. The staff is very warm and friendly.

Hunter, who is some guy who works at the reception was a very cool gent extremely professional during my check in. I would also point out that the breakfast is fairly decent. I ate these egg patties which were ok. The room was OK overall, though it did not look as good as the pictures. The real beef was the sort of low brow feeling you got being in this place and some of the creepy people who are staying here. It’s sort of felt like this place was going to be featured on an episode of COPS.I also was turned off by the distinct smell of Peruvian chicken in the hallway. I had to buy two candles, grapefruit scented, to neutralize that poultry smell. I also went to the exercise room, which is ridiculously small, and some dude was already in there, and it was like two guys in a bathroom stall each using dumbbells. I tried not to make eye contact.

Our first time at this hotel. During our travels I have learned that a hotel is a hotel is a hotel but the heart of a hotel is in it's service and hospitality. We enjoyed the hospitality at this Marriott TownePlace Suites in Gaithersburg, MD. It starts with the General Manager Andrew who checked us in and welcomed us to the property. He was very hospitable and we truly felt like guests during our entire stay. He did well to thank us for our loyalty to Marriott, used our name whenever he saw us during the week. He explained housekeeping and the hours of the breakfast buffet and offered us our gift of points or item from the sundry area. Breakfast buffet was always opened on time. I liked the egg patty (fried eggs) vs the usual scrambled eggs. The breakfast meat was turkey or pork sausage. There were hard cooked eggs and cheddar cheese slices. The waffle machine was available and a real toaster that worked. Wheat bread, bagels and English muffins were available along with yogurt and fresh fruit. Cereals were available including the kids favorite - Fruit Loops. Our room was clean and we enjoyed the bottle of water and cookies as we entered our room. I didn't like the layout of the television. A couple of issues were reported to the General Manager, the bathroom exhaust fan was very loud and the toilet didn't fill quickly after flushing. In the middle of the night the large shampoo bottle fell off from where it was attached to the wall and crashed into the tub scaring us a bit. Although I didn't get everyone's name we did meet a couple of other associates that were very friendly and hospitable, Hunter and Earl. Both should be commended for their hospitality and insuring warm cookies were available in the lobby in the morning. The breakfast area is small I suggest getting up early to insure seating. We didn't use the fitness room but it is small as well. Location is good close to a small shopping center with Panera and an Asian restaurant and a CVS drug store. Parking is ample and there is no charge for parking. Wifi worked great. If your travels bring you to Gaithersburg MD we recommend this hotel.

I'd like to first say that the staff was kind especially Elizabeth at the Front Desk. She helped me when I brought down my sheets that had a blood stain, she apologized and got us new bedding. However when we first got there I noticed that there was no bedding for the pull out sofa. When we left for the baby shower that we were attending I mentioned to the Front Desk that we needed the bedding for the pull out sofa, he said that they can put it in the room and I said no thank you I can pick it up when we return. When we returned I noticed that someone came in the room to drop off the bedding, I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and they still entered the room. When I put this on the actual website it DID NOT appear on there and I put it on there on Nov. 13, 2023, today it is still NOT on the website. Warmest Regards, Goldie

As others have noted - this hotel looks very worn. A/C coming off of the wall, things dented and scuffed, closet door struggling to open, rooms smelled like smoke, mattress probable hasn't been flat in years, walls and floors are VERY thin - you hear every sound of the people above you, linens stained & ripped, etc. The staff was mostly very nice, if aggressive - the housekeeping opening the door at 9am the day we were due to check out while our DND was on the door was not appreciated. I also spotted a little ant crawling across the bed (see picture). On the positive side: the airconditioning worked wonderfully well on a very hot weekend, and I thought the drip coffee from the breakfast was really good. I would not stay here again, but for a quick weekend trip it was fine this one time.

Let me start that this not my first stay with Marriott, I would not recommend the hotel.. the morning breakfast was so fake . The front desk person was never there and from the room and buildings it smelled.. honestly felt grossed out and would not recommend this hotel.. the property is managed nicely around the outside but inside is not great.

This hotel needs some serious renovations. Carpets are worn, the faceplate for the door lock kept coming lose, the hallways and room smelled. There was something wrong with the water in the shower. It would either be extremely hot or extremely cold. There was no way to regulate the temperature. We tried moving the handle in both directions but kept getting either very hot or very cold water. We checked in on a Friday and stayed until Monday. Housekeeping never provided clean towels. We had to go to the office to get some and they acted like they were made of gold and reluctant to provide us with some. The staff did not appear to be very friendly or wanting to provide good customer service. The only good part was the patio area. Will not be coming back here to stay.
