The location was great service was excellent

I checked in here on a cross country drive from NE to DC. My daughter and I had hoped to find a quiet place out of the city and this property did not disappoint. While I was waiting in line to check in an employee from food service greeting me warmly. I checked in and as I wanted to walk to a nearby restaurant in the rain, I asked the clerk if I could borrow an umbrella. He quickly retrieved one and I was on my way. My room was above average, nice bedding, very clean and quiet all of which I appreciate. The decor is a bit dated but did not appear worn out. It is the red/gold Marriott color scheme you still see in many properties. The halls and rooms appeared well maintained. The area is terrific with retail and dining options galore surround the lake the hotel sits on. Parking is plentiful and easy. An office park type setting surrounds the property. The true diamond of this property is Ms. Julia Ann up in the concierge lounge. I immediately recognized her as the employee that greeted me while I was waiting to check in. She knew many of the guests in the lounge, greeted folks by name all the while bustling around, cleaning up food and making things hospitable and showing us where things were. When the brownies were put out she made sure to point them out and tell us to be sure and try them as they were very good and disappear fast - she was correct in both instances. I am on night 54 this year on Marriott stays and people like Julia Ann make all the difference. To have someone this friendly and eager to please is such a bright spot.
