First, the staff: Receptionist Corinne was welcoming and professional, asking questions about an issue with the room and resolving it quickly, making dinner reservations which could only be phoned in, and greeting us whenever we walked through the lobby. Carol Ann in the restaurant went out of her way to make sure we were well served, and remembered us. Then, the facilities: The hotel makes a convenient base for exploring the area and has nice views. More renovation is needed, however, to upgrade this fine old building which has lived a lot of history. Investing is happening: the restaurant has been re-done, there were new curtains in our room. New mattresses and bed frames which don’t squeak are needed next, please. Restaurant offerings are fairly basic. Adequate, yes. “Bespoke,” no, regardless of corporate branding.
