Duplex room, bedroom and toilet on the second floor, no kitchen facilities, a view of the sea. Convenient parking, restaurants and shops within walking distance, breakfast is very good. Overall satisfied, recommended booking

This accommodation has a beautiful sea view. There was ample parking space and there was a restaurant directly operated by the hotel, so it was convenient. Of course, the food was good too!!!

Beautiful hotel & restaurant in a perfect location looking out over the bay. The owner and staff were absolutely excellent, very friendly and hospitable to weary travellers. I had to leave at 5am thanks to the ferry company letting me down and having to re-book a stupidly early ferry on to the Orkney Isles, so I couldn't check out as normal and arranged with the owner to leave the room key at the unmanned reception desk before normal operating hours.

This establishment was dreadful. I was charged £570 for 3 nights as I upgraded. We were put into a “suite” which I would only describe as staff quarters. It did have a sea view, if you stood up but the bedroom was small with a double bed not a king as you would expect in a suite, the lounge area was large but not a splash of luxury, it was musty. The kitchen area had. Bits lying around as if had not been cleared properly. The 2 mugs which were the only crockery left in the kitchen were chipped and did not match. The towels were small and thin. The entire place was not clean and although someone visited each day this was not improved on. Breakfast was dreadful, this establishment purchases the cheapest products, the orange juice tasted watery, eggs were barely yellow, this cheap bread. Everything on the cooked breakfast was deep fried except the fried egg, even the forgotten tomato when it came was oozing fat. I have requested contact details but none forthcoming. I agree their marketing department does a good job as the website and the pictures made the rooms and views look nice.

Was met by Daniel who was extremely pleasant and friendly at each put to ease immediately. Stayed in a suite with my son, it was well laid out plenty of room and an amazing view. Room was clean with a great shower and recently refurbished bathroom. Dinner was excellent as well as breakfast. Can’t fault somewhere that’s hassle free and welcoming. Top notch

We have visited Scotland in the last week and had a very good two night stay at The Millcroft. The scenery as you come up to The Millcroft is wonderful. We were met in the reception by Daniel who couldn’t have been more helpful or friendlier. Duncan, Gwen and Abby were all very pleasant to deal with and Duncan in particular was very helpful with any issues we had and looked after us.Our Suite 22 had plenty of room and very good facilities. We were there to visit the Arctic Convoy Museum and Memorial Service, which was perfect staying at Gairloch. Would definitely recommend The Millcroft to stay.

We cannot express how disappointed we were with this hotel. We booked based on the photos provided by management on website and booking sites. What we experienced was simply nothing like the online photos. Please see our photos and compare with the online ones for proof. We had apartment 27 which was in a very poor state of repair with damaged decor and the rooms were not clean. We found thick dust, human hair, stains, marks, mould etc, which made the rooms feel very uncomfortable. Towels falling to bits (see photo). We also had a very poor experience for our disabled colleague. We rang a week prior to arriving to ensure we had a room without any stairs but on arrival only suite 25 was available which had a step flight of stairs. This was dreadful and our colleague required assistance from us to get up these and to the bedroom. This was undignified and painful for them and I am sure not legal under the DDA. We complained to management but were informed no other rooms available. Management agreed the rooms were not ideal. Which was an understatement We tried to locate alternative accommodation but there was nothing within miles so we had to stay or sleep in our cars. We didn’t stay for breakfast after a bad nights sleep on the mattress and left at 7:30am. Complaint raised with *********** Overall an awful experience and I cannot recommend this hotel at all
