I have never paid so much to feel so unwelcome somewhere. PLEASE STAY ANYWHERE ELSE! My family and I evacuated for milton and this was the only place we could find at the time. When we arrived to the property we had to park in the street a little ways away because there are only a little bit of room to park but no marked spots. The property is around a kind of sketchy area so there are several homeless people walking around and asking for money. Once we finally got into the property there was no one to be seen and the first person to engage with us was another guest who had no idea where a staff member was. When we did finally see someone, they were very upset that we were even there and then pointed us to our room. For the price, the room was very unimpressive and had a shared balcony right out the very thin window of the room. The cheap renovations done to the interior of the home completely ruin the charm of staying in an 18th century home. The room had no closet and only contained one small dresser which the top half was locked and unusable giving is only 2 small drawers to put stuff in. But there were 3 chairs for some reason. For our late lunch we decided to order burgers from downtown and i would just walk and pick them up. On my way i decided to find a spot to enjoy some of my medicine since i am a mmj patient here in florida and finally had a small break. Once i returned my family enjoying them outside when we were quickly approached by two dogs that were off their leashes belonging to other guests. We didnt really mind this since we have two dogs staying with our parents while we evacuated, however the guests didnt really like that i smelled so heavily so they decided to complain to the staff saying we were smoking in our room, even though they interacted with us outside. The innkeeper decided to follow up with that complaint at 9pm when my baby was asleep by coming up and knocking loudly on the door only to tell us “not to smoke in the room”. This was the first time we had seen another staff member since our arrival and it was only to follow up on someones complaint. The place says no pets, however instead of reprimanding the vacationing guest breaking those rules they decided to harass the family with a baby. Accommodations were terrible, we had to call 3 separate times for sheets because the rooms dont have their own ACs. Quiet hours are ignored, and not enforced (same people that complained loudly arguing through the night, and throwing/dropping beers). UPDATE for businesses reply: 1) I never smoked on the property at all, but the other guests happily chainsmoked on thenpatio tight behind our window. All smoking was done in my own vehicle away from the property. Unfortunately i do not think any of the inns rules apply outside of the property. Your innkeeper even acknowledged that he could not see or smell any signs of smoking when he was at our room at 9pm. 2) we were never shown to our room, and PAID FOR EARLY CHECK IN. 3) Was lit

Lovely period style house. Area very quiet. The room was fantastic, clean and fresh. Bathroom facilities excellent. We were met at the front door by the receptionist and had everything explained to us. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of continental or a hot breakfast at the Inn directly next door. We loved the place

We stayed at The Camellia Rose Inn while visiting Gainesville and we loved it! The staff was friendly, the breakfast was great (we had a continental breakfast the first morning and then a hot breakfast next door the next morning), happy hour was elegant (next door at The Laurel Oak Inn), and we loved the free snacks and beverages all day. We loved being able to walk downtown to have dinner and see a play at the Hippodrome. We also explored several nature outings in Gainesville.

The Camellia Rose Inn staff took great care of us during our recent stay. We enjoyed having free snacks and drinks available all day, and we went next door to their next door inn, The Laurel Oak, for the complementary Happy Hour on Friday and Saturday nights. The rocking chairs on the front porch were our favorite spot. We come through Gainesville often and we will definitely stay at the inn again.

I have stayed at The Camellia Rose Inn in Gainesville, FL many times. I used to stay when the previous owner lived in the Inn, and I have continued to stay when the new owners took over. The Inn has so much charm, comfortable beds, free snacks all day, happy hour in their Sister Inn (The Laurel Oak Inn, next door) every Friday and Saturday nights, and beautiful common areas. I always choose the Camellia Rose Inn when we pass through Gainesville. It's walking distance to downtown (restaurants) and Depot Park. We always look forward to our Camellia Rose stays.

It's everything it says it is. Very beautiful house and relaxing. No rules, just to enjoy the experience. If I had to have just one tiny criticism it would be that the instructions for the shower and other information is accessible on smart phones which not everyone has.

We stayed in The Camellia Rose Inn for a women’s retreat and it was a gorgeous, well appointed place in which they were attentive and available for all of our needs. I look forward to our next visit. We had access to snacks and beverages and felt safe in the house and vicinity.

My husband and I have stayed at the Camellia Rose Inn several times over the past few years and love each time we’ve visited. Whether it’s been our birthdays, anniversary or New Year’s Eve, we always enjoy how beautiful, romantic and serene our time spent here has been. I threw a surprise 50th birthday celebration for my husband at the CRI a couple years ago. It was a perfect venue for our friends and family. So far we have booked four different rooms, but our favorites are the Anticipation and Spats Hideaway. Love the 24hr availability of refreshments in the dining area. Always, coffee, soda and water along with lights snacks. Also, love seeing Bryson, the 17yr old inn cat. We are Gainesville residents so this is our staycation escape. Would highly recommend.

Perfect location, super comfortable, and has that Florida Gator vibe. It's hard to find a place in town that checks all the boxes. Will stay here again for our next Gator game! And just recommended to my alumni friends for their next reunion.
