Hilton Garden Inn Gainesville

The hotel staff varied from friendly to rude. The front desk staff were helpful, but the woman manning the extremely overpriced breakfast buffet was snippy and minimally helpful. We had pre-purchased the breakfast package as part of our stay based on the online images of the the service. The continental breakfast consisted of watery eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, oatmeal. and pastries. Waffles are NOT included in the buffet but can be purchased for an additional fee. The rooms were extremely dated and are not at all as featured in the images posted by management earlier this year (2025). In fact, our window sheers were ripped, the bed comforters were snagged, the carpets are worn and dirty, the walls are stained and our first room smelled like a hospital (not like cleaning agents, but like sickness). We were given the option to switch rooms, but informed that all the rooms are in the same condition because renovations have not began. The second room was worse than the first so we kept the original room. The hallway carpets are stained and even the furniture in the lobby is worn and stained. Unfortunately, management's photos are completely misleading. The images shared by recent guests are more accurate. This property definitely is not reflective of the Hilton standards most travelers would expect.

Kids enjoyed the pool. Clean rooms. TV was outdated and front counter staff seemed a little cold. Kitchen staff was really friendly. Overall a good place to stay, if I come back into the area I'll definitely stay here again.

Why this Hilton have good reviews I don't know, but my stay was different. Only one but a roach was crawling in the bathroom, fingerprints everywhere around the doors, knobs, and walls. The 1st room we got the toilet barely had any pressure to flush so we had to switch rooms. The new room toilet was doing the same. I left and got a whole new hotel in walking distance at Holiday Inn. The room at Holiday Inn was better than at the Hilton. Bright, airy, lots of lighting.
