Holland Arms Hotel

We booked this hotel by mistake. Should have been another Holland Arms nearer Holyhead. Which is a lot better. The place was covered in scaffolding obviously having a lot of work done. Greeted by a very friendly barman who told us no evening meals and no breakfast because the chef wants to much money. So we had to go elsewhere for dinner. The rooms were ok but my basin had been leaking for a long time as the floor was stained. No plug in the sink. overall a bit tired. When we left the stairs were covered with dust sheet and steps as they were decorating. Luckily we didn't have suitcases.

When we pulled up we wasn't impressed it looks tired but we went in and we're pleasantly surprised. The bar/ restaurant was clean and tidy needs up dated. The owner was there and very pleasant. We were having the carvery and I got to say it was one of the best roast dinners iv had, apart from my own. It was delicious. We made enquiries about the rooms and were shown them nice size rooms some without bathrooms but that did bother us. I would highly recommend this place. Don't dismiss it on first appearance.

Food is excellent and beds very comfortable. Everything is really clean and staff and owners very friendly and chatty Only let down was showers low on pressure but otherwise excellent Convenient central location Pub generally quiet which suited us

Absolutely awful, we stayed in the family room. We just wanted a clean bed and shower, unfortunately we didn't get either. The shower didn't work, we tried using a different one and that didn't work either. The barman who checked us in just said he's only the barman. It was filthy dirty, mould on the ceiling, great big hole by the door lock which meant anyone could easily get in. A huge gap under the door, dirty bath, sink etc. We asked the barman if they were doing food, he said yes until 8.30pm, we popped back to the room and said we would be down in a few minutes, we returned at just gone 8pm and he said the chef went home, he said he told him we wanted food but he left. I'm glad we went elsewhere to get food as I'm not sure how clean the kitchen would be.
