D&R Pelican Bay Resort

We’ve been going to Pelican Bay for over 15 years. And have always enjoyed our stay. These past year , it had a totally different feel. My guess is it has always been owned by a family and was recently sold. Immediately upon check in, my kids wanted to go swimming. So we headed to the pool. It was nice and relaxing for about 30 minutes or so when a huge family came with lots of adult and children, which no biggie. But all of them had ice chests , loud speakers playing from the pool as well as playing from someone’s truck. The pool itself is not very big and many of the adults starting playing football in and around the pool which made it impossible for anyone else to be in there. I left along with another family. There is no one in office anymore checking the grounds or making sure everyone is being respectful of the space. We headed down the pier instead and I was shocked at its state. Trash everywhere. In all our years going, I had never seen it like that. We headed back and noticed alot of families setting up long tables in front of their cottage with many in the way of where people are driving through. The party lasted through the night. Again. No one on property to help remedy any issues. Noise, trash or otherwise. We’ve always felt it was very family oriented resort. But with staff present to remedy any issues, I feel this opens a can of worms. I hesitate to come back with my kids.

the building maintenance was good. the bed was comfortable.there was no coffee. for Friday,Saturday,Sunday. the room was clean but no house keeping even when we offered to pay extra I may have been charged extra. the parking was tight some guests did not park properly and nearly closed the road. there was no resturant or any facility to buy snacks or coffee. I asked for a receipt didn't get one girl running office said one would be sent to my email but was not. pool was closed for private party. staff was friendly but mostly inefficient.good location for a motel. nice fishing pier. I would visit again but bring my own coffee and clean towels. I was disappointed overall maybe I expected to much. they did not deliver what they advertised. maybe some changes in staff would help.maybe deliver what you advertise. and I still haven't seen the bill yet.....

I like the atmosphere, great beds very relaxing , very clean, good fishing pier, great staff i recommend this place ,I will definitely book again. My family enjoyed their stay as well.

We had a lovely 3 night stay! The entire property was clean, quiet, and everything we wanted for a peaceful getaway! Also, the cottages are super cute and only a few steps to the private pier and beautiful sunrises! Thank you,. Pelican Bay Resort! Look forward to coming back!

nice set up

The cottage was nice; however the pool/spa were closed for maintenance (and had been for a while). That was one of the major reasons we booked this place and were very disappointed there was no notification ahead of time
