Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Nakasu is a great choice for travelers looking for convenience and comfort. Its location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from the subway, making it easy to explore the city. There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, adding to its appeal.
The hotel features self-check-in machines, which made the process quick and hassle-free. The room itself was clean, bright, and comfortable, providing a pleasant stay overall.
However, I did notice one downside—the bathtub was clogged with hair, which was quite unpleasant. Better maintenance in this area would improve the experience.
Despite this issue, the hotel’s prime location, efficiency, and cleanliness make it a solid option for visitors to Fukuoka. I would stay again, but hope for better bathroom upkeep next time!

It was definitely much better than how we expected. The cleanest hotel we stayed during this trip and the most cozy one with the in-room dim lights. You may get all the daily amenities, books, magazines, coffee & tea from the beautiful lobby. Even though the room isn't that spacious, but considered not too bad in Japan. Booking a connecting room for 3 is a good idea. Not noisy at all with its location very close to one of the electric tram stations, nearby to a market place too. Besides, easy to find food and tourist spots with walking distance. I've recommend this hotel to my friends too (:

We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel, which is in a fantastic location. However, we encountered a significant inconvenience during check-out. Our flight was at 7 AM, so we checked out around 5 AM to catch a taxi to the airport. Unfortunately, both the elevator and the lift were turned off at that time. Since the hotel is located on the second floor of the building, we had to manually carry all our luggage down a long flight of stairs.
This was especially difficult as we were a group of five, including two elderly ladies. Thankfully, my husband was able to manage the luggage, but this situation could have been very challenging for others. We strongly recommend that the hotel ensure the elevator is operational for early-morning check-outs to better accommodate guests.

Hotel is at a good location with walkable distance to everything next to the canal. Our check in experience was so so given we had to enter much personal info as scanning our passport didn’t work, and it was not a friendly experience especially if without staff’s assistance. The hotel is a bit old and rundown and their staff has very limited English skills. Their wifi connection is very weak and the hotel also provide the most basic amenities at lobby. I will only recommend this hotel for its location and if it is at a good discounted price, but will definitely not recommend if someone has to pay an overvalued price.
It was amazing experience in Japan trip.
Spa was perfect, and the room was satisfied.
You can think the room was little bit small when you open trolley case.
The location was perfect who has no car.

Very helpful and committed staff. They helped me to call a hotel at Yufuin regarding my booking and they go all the way out to check for me. The hotel is always prompt in replying and it is super clean. The food at the lounge and restaurant are also very tasty. Public bath at level 3 is clean too. Coin is given when you purchase breakfast and coin can used to redeem drinks and snacks.

Great location that is within a 10-minute walk to the main Hakata Station and a local train station that connects all around Fukuoka.
With a 24 hour reception, there is no issues with arriving on a super early flight or a super late flight. Taxi or uber bookings are really easy to get to the airport too.
The taxi fare should cost less than 25 USD.
Though there is an onsen on the property and the hotel provides tattoo stickers. If you have a large tattoo, you still wont be able to use the onsen. I was hoping there would be private onsen for guests with tattoos or guests who are a little more shy to book.

The room we took was very big for Japan standards! Location is truly amazing! It is near all the shopping malls and the main Hakata Station. Food and restaurants can be found everywhere. There's the famous Ichira at Sun Plaza which is just next to the hotel. It's also within walking distance to several popular shrines and shopping malls. They have a laundry room on our floor. Not sure if available on every floor but we had it on our floor. They are very strict with what you throw away though. I think it's because they are usually the last stop for many travelers and alot of people throw away luggage, clothes etc and it makes it inconvenient for the hotel staff.
It has everything you need, very clean and comfortable. If you have problems connecting to wifi at first , just unplug it for 15 seconds. Internet is quite fast. Television and all electronic items are new and useful.

GGuest UserThe location is good, very close to the station and tourist attractions, and the hygiene is pretty good, but there are a few problems.
1. There is no front desk. You need to check in by yourself through the hotel iPad. The instructions are not clear and it took several people half an hour to complete the registration. If you encounter problems, there is no front desk to assist.
2. The drainage in the bathroom is not smooth, and water sometimes backs up outside the bathroom.
3. The Wi-Fi is very slow, and you can only watch YouTube at 480P at night.
4. The indoor temperature is difficult to adjust, the heater is too warm and the temperature cannot be lowered.
5. There is basically no view at all. There is only one window in the room, but the wall facing another building is airtight.
6. I stayed there for 5 days and no one cleaned it. I don’t know if it’s normal. However, because no one was cleaning up the garbage, garbage accumulated indoors and no garbage bags were provided. The toilet also started to get dirty and we had to clean it ourselves.
Conclusion: Only the location is good and the price-performance ratio is average.
EEduTA Wonderful Stay!
I had an amazing experience at this hotel during my recent stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient, making check-in a breeze. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with modern amenities. The bed was so comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep.
The hotel’s location is perfect – close to local attractions and public transportation, making it easy to explore the city. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches, like complimentary water bottles.
GGuest UserSelf-service check-in and check-out. I didn't see any service staff the whole time, which was a very novel experience.
The room is very large, it is a two-bedroom and two-living room apartment. The split-level design of the living room is a bit confusing. In fact, the size of a normal living room is enough for a large family to live in.
The hygiene is slightly worse than other hotels in Japan, but it is acceptable. Towels and toiletries are provided in sufficient quantities.
There is also a Japanese garden near the downstairs, which is marked on the map. You can go there when you have time.
The disadvantage is that you cannot store your luggage at the self-service check-in. You must leave with your luggage at 11 o'clock, otherwise the door will not open. The luggage storage at Hakata Station is often full, so it is recommended to arrange the itinerary reasonably if you want to play around the surrounding area after checking out.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 1 night in a twin room at this hotel and we were very pleased. The room was spacious enough for the 2 of us. We carried 2 small suitcases and there was just enough space to open it up fully. I agree with some of the other reviews, in case you have a large suitcase, it will be tight.
Positives
* Good location (approx 13 mins from JR Hakata Station).
* Comfortable beds.
* Good shower/ bathroom.
* Friendly staff and extremely helpful.
* Check-in and out was easy without any issues.
Negatives
* There was hair in the corner of the bathroom. It looked like when the floor was cleaned, it was swept into the corner and forgotten about.
* Some difficult to reach areas were not dusted.

GGuest Userwe got the corner sofa room, very spacious with 2 queen beds next to each other, very good with my 2 kids together. location was very nice, we drove and there are a few parking areas behind the hotel which was convinent. but they dont clean the room for you or enter the room at all so its good for insecure guest i guess. towel not changing was a problem for my wife....

AAnonymous UserEnjoyed my stay with Tenza Hakata for 7 nights, the hotel location is very strategic (within 5 minutes walk from Hakata Station), and most importantly the hotel did provide free laundry machine & dryer (you just need to bring your own detergent / purchase at the lobby at JPY 50 per pack) - traveler may consider bring lesser clothes when staying with Tenza Hakata.
The room also come with a massage chair which is a life saver (especially after a long day walk), do note that the hotel will only provide cleaning service for every 3 days, however they do provide a recycle bag for you to put your used towel and hang it on the door (before 10am of following day).
The hotel also surrounded with lots of restaurant / coffee house / convenient store.
