The apartment was clean, spacious and good value for money. We stayed in Calle Martinica, Oasis in a 2 bed 2 bath penthouse apartment. The kitchen equipment was basic and could have been more as one of the four cups was chipped and there was only a small selection of glasses. More towels would have also been appreciated. There is a washing machine and dishwasher in the apartment but getting washing dry wasn’t easy as there was only one small drying rack. Our apartment was serviced once during the 10 day stay. There is a safe in the apartment. No hairdryer. We did get a lot of bites whilst staying here and think they possibly came from stagnant plunge pools on other apartment balconies. Our own plunge pool was covered over and not in use so this could have also been a culprit. The balcony furniture was basic and there wasn’t any lounging furniture on either balcony just a table and chairs. There is also a farm smell (pig farms) occasionally throughout the day, plus lots of little flies in the apartment and outside. However, the resort is in the middle of agricultural land so this is to be expected. The resort is still fairly empty as they are selling off a lot of bank repossession apartments. Possibly in another 6 months it could be busier. For us the peace and tranquillity was nice. There are a couple of restaurants and bars on site plus the hotel and clubhouse. I would say it’s a good 4 star resort with potential to become 5 star. It is a very remote location and everything except the little town of Fuerte Alamo is 30 mins drive away so you will need a car. Fuente Álamo is a 5 minute drive and has 3 supermarkets plus other small shops. The restaurants are only open during the daytime here so you cannot eat out there in the evening, which for us was a downside. Most things are a 30 minute drive away. The nearest beach is also 30 minutes away. If you are a golf fanatic then this will be paradise for you. The course looks well maintained and is very picturesque. We took the breakfast option with our apartment and this was at the golf clubhouse every morning which was a 10 minute walk away. There was a good selection of food on a buffet up until 10am. If you are looking for an away from it all type of break then this will be for you. There are 4 pools in Oasis and they were never busy - but at busy times I don't think there would be enough sunbeds plus a couple of the subneds were broken at our pool There is also tennis and paddle tennis courts, pétanque , cycling paths and other sporting activities. Plenty of parking.
