Airport transfer - we chose to book a private taxi transfer after hearing some reviews talk about the long queues at check in. This cost us just under €50. So we were sat having dinner in the restaurant by 8:30pm. That said, having spoken to some guests on our stay, the transfer was smooth enough and the queue wasn't bad at all, especially if you had checked in previously online. Accommodation - whilst it was slightly dated, it was perfectly nice, and everything worked as it should. The bed was comfortable, the aircon worked well, the shower worked well, there is a safe, a fridge, hangers, coffee, tea etc. The room was cleaned daily and linen, towels were replaced as required, which was most days for us. The food - the food was, in our opinion, well above average for All Inclusive. Some of the meats that came out were cooked to perfection! And there was always a good choice on offer. We chose to eat in the poolside restaurant/cafe for breakfast and lunch! The chef down there did omelettes to order for breakfast which my wife said were amazing. We did have breakfast and lunch up in the main building on a couple of occasions and there was more choice, but the view from the poolside cafe takes some beating! Drinks - mainly self service. Pour your own Beer, wine, cocktails, soft drinks, cold water etc. Initially I wasn't a fan of the idea. But it actually worked very well. There were spirits behind the bar available, rum, vodka, gin etc of which I had the vodka on a few occasions. It was nice enough. The Pool Area - the swimming pools are phenomenal. There are plenty to choose from, most within close vicinity of each other. Only one heated but it didn't seem to stop anyone using the others, they were all popular. A couple start off shallow and deepen as you go further in, which was great for kids. A few tiles missing here and there, but the pools were kept impeccably clean always! The pool cafe is down here, as is a pool bar, and a shop that just sold the usual, and toilets. There was an abundance of sun loungers, so no problems acquiring any in the whole two weeks were there. And plenty of wooden pergolas if you wanted to sit in the shade. Car Hire - we hired a car on a couple of occasions, from AutoOasis. A Kia Rio (struggled a bit up the hills but got us from A-B) and a VW T-Roc Cabrio (great car, had a fantastic day exploring the island with the hood down). They have vehicles on site so little notice needed to hire, and all done via their website. They have their own area at reception and someone was there to meet us and hand the keys over. All very simple. Even if you're not used to driving on the right in a LHD car, the roads are generally very quiet which will give you chance to get used to it. La Palma - the island is stunning! The roads are well maintained, the land is well maintained, the houses are stunning, the people are great. Whilst it is a lot quieter than many other places, there is still plenty to do and see.
