Margaritaville Vacation Club - St Thomas

Very disappointed with my stay as the service and actual management that I dealt with were lackadasical and not customer-focused. The on-site night manager, Randy, fit this description also lied to me how he would compensate for one night. Poor service and there are plenty of other resorts to book that will treat you like you should be treated when you're paying $500+ per night.

July 5th- 7th, 2025 GOOD 1. Friendly staff 2. Room looked very nice 3. The roof top pool bar was great! We could not smell the seaweed/ sewer from there. 4. The regular pool was also nice however, the stench was horrible down there. BAD 1. The seaweed/ sewer scent permeated the air upon entrance to the hotel 2. The room had a bit of a musty scent 3. There was no drinking water in the room, and it was not included in room service. We were told to drink the tap water as it was filtered . The water was heavy and horrible!. 4. There was a horrible sewer stench which came from the shower/ tap once you opened the water. We could barely use to brush our teeth it tasted so bad.

The resort was a great place to stay, it was close to everything, and it offered activities on the property as well as snorkeling and dinner cruises.

Love the room, the service, everything was nice! Everything was clean!

Overall great location. Nice people and food was okay.

After returning from my recent stay at Margaritaville St Thomas, I will have to agree with other reviewers, that this resort is indeed having some issues. The seaweed does smell bad and there is a lot of it, making it pretty much impossible to use their private beach. However; the pool area is nice and there is also a hilltop pool where there is no odor. There are also plenty of other beaches on the island where the seaweed doesn't accumulate, unfortunately; this resort is located in an area where the seaweed gathers! It was also not a problem for our snorkeling excursion. For supposed mechanical reasons, we were downgraded from our 2 bedroom presidential suite to 2 separate units. While this was a big disappointment, the units were nice with a great view. Unfortunately, the HVAC was inadequate in one of the units, and although maintenance worked on it, improving it slightly, it was never really cold. There was also no TV at the entire resort- I was told an outside issue. While I was able to overlook these issues, had my husband been with me, he would not have been happy. Aside from all these hiccups, we still enjoyed our stay at the Margaritaville resort. I felt the maintenance and management staff went out of their way to try to resolve our issues, in particular Curtis, who did his best to make up for our inconvenience in other ways. And really, isn't that what it's all about? It's often not the problem itself, but how it's dealt with that makes a difference. I found the staff to be empathic and accommodating and therefore, would not hesitate to return to this resort.
