Knoll Hill Farm, the Place to Stay

What a wonderful place Joss and staff were brilliant. Room really clean and breakfast was absolutely amazing. Out in the countryside surrounded by various animals and birds. Staff were amazing couldn’t do enough. Answered all questions. Will try and stay again

Wonderful 3 day stay. Joss and the team couldn’t do enough for their guests and were very knowledgeable about the local area. The room was quirky, with a lovely comfortable bed and fluffy pillows and the bathroom was massive with a bath and walk in shower. Plenty of tea and coffee plus biscuits in the room too. The breakfast room is lovely and the cooked breakfast was delicious. The grounds are beautiful but unfortunately we didn’t see much of the view as the weather was awful! We ate at the local pub which is a 5 minute walk away and Sam the landlord and chef, also cooks the breakfast at the guest house as both locations are run by family. Would definitely stay again

Upon arrival the views were beautiful, the staff friendly and checking in easy. We were led to our room in the main house small but pleasant and mainly clean. We went out for dinner and when we returned I sat on the bed, the slats all moved and popped out, causing me to fall through. Upon inspection their was a slat missing, we called the number and was immediately moved to another room. This room was in the courtyard. No dressing table to do make up, we had an early night as their televisions was so small we couldn't watch them. Unfortunately we were right next to the gravelled drive, every time a car came in and out it or if someone walked passed it was really noisy. The bed creaked and groaned all night long I was so worried it would also break, which also kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast was lovely, very well cooked, staff very polite and welcoming.

This was our 6th time staying at The Place to stay. As always, the hospitality provided by Joss and Sam was second to none! The rooms are always clean, the staff wonderful, and the breakfast delicious. We plan on returning again and again. It really doesn’t get more hospitable than The Place to Stay in Trudoxhill!! Also make sure to visit The White Hart pub in the village also run by Sam. His food is the best British food we’ve ever had! Trudoxhill is a very special place thanks to Joss and Sam!!!

Such a lovely place to stay, wanted to stay longer, hosts are gorgeous! Bed very comfortable bedding like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast amazing, so fresh! A really "homey" house to stay in with lots of character. Lovely to see the animals and the chickens look as happy as I was ! Can't wait to come back.

Such a great stay! The rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable. Provided everything we required in the rooms and fresh milk was available. Jos and the team were brilliant, friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and very well prepared to individual requirements. The grounds were also very beautiful with farm animals (chickens, ducks, geese, puppies and horses!). We got so much joy from playing fetch with the dogs and feeding gentle Red the beautiful horse! We ate dinner at the near by pub where the food was delicious and staff were lovely (the chef also cooks the breakfast). Overall was a brilliant experience, would highly recommend and we plan on coming back! Thank you so much Jos for making it a great stay!

This was our second trip and won't be the last. We first booked here because it's convenient for Longleat - and we loved it. It's set in glorious countryside, not too far from Frome, Bath and some very pretty villages. The farm has chickens, geese, friendly dogs and a pony as well as magnificent views. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast is absolutely perfect. Joss and her team are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful (we needed to avoid Glastonbury traffic for a planned visit and were given a detailed diversion that saved us a LOT of time). The garden is also extremely pretty. All in all a lovely place in which to recharge

What a fabulous place and great host! The farm is quiet and in an absolute dream location. The room we had was perfect for the two of us, my daughter and I. Powerful shower, comfy bed and lovely decor. We were right opposite the stable, where we could enjoy the pony and his morning strolls. The breakfast was utterly delicious, great selection of cooked items and a continental offering too, all included in the price. The eggs came straight from the courtyard and the bacon was so tasty, I had to eat it both mornings I stayed there. What can I say about Joss the host? She made us feel very special and welcome, always attentive but never intrusive. She also has great knowledge of the surrounding area therefore can help with tips and directions. Definitely looking forward to going back soon.

Wonderful stay. We were really looked after. We had phone calls in advance of the stay just to check what we needed and to ensure we were looked after. Very comfortable room and the breakfast was simply incredible. It’s an easy stroll to the local pub for food. Really recommend if you like a war, and cosy family feel.
