The room is very comfortable, the surrounding is very quiet, and it takes 10 minutes to drive to the city for meals

1 nachtje overnacht, prima mooi hotel, ligt in het buitengebied. Ligt wat verlaten erbij, rustige omgeving. Vriendelijk en nette personeel. Gesloten kofferruimte. We hadden zin in ijsje. Dit hebben ze niet. Hun serveren alleen koffie en thee en drankjes….jammer. Het ontbijt was super lekker.

Really good value, located a bit on the outskirts of town but perfect place to stop before heading to Ravensburger Land (20 mins away). It is a new hotel so good sized clean rooms and nice new bathrooms! We had interconnecting rooms at the end of the corridor but there aren’t many of these so make sure to ask in advance.

Very nice and well-kept modern hotel. It is located near the university. The room is spacious and clean, the bathroom very comfortable with a large shower. I rested very well because the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast does not offer a huge assortment of products but is still decent. More than positive experience.

An overnight stop - the hotel seems brand new! - surgical cleanliness - No restaurant, just bar + buffet breakfast. The buffet is correct to the standard of an Ibis Style. - spacious bedroom (comfort twin). Comfortable bathroom with walk-in shower. Comfortable bedding also. To take into account: - out-of-the-way hotel... 5-10 minutes from the lake by car (which seems essential) but without GPS, no salvation. Advantage: the area is very quiet - parking on the street. - completely professional welcome but without excessive warmth

Hotel a little out of the center of Friedrichshafen, in the Fallenbrunnen district. I had doubts about the reliability of my GPS because I arrived in a work zone close to a vacant lot... It is in fact the area of an old barracks which is undergoing rapid change. New buildings under construction, housing or activities (including the one next to the hotel), a brand new university building, university residences... It's a bit surprising at first. Parking in front of the hotel (free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. and Sundays), parking meter afterwards or option of underground parking under the hotel but at a prohibitive price: useless if you find a space on the street. Quick check-in. The evening reception agent, however, makes little effort to make himself understood, both in German and in English, which is complicated with a fairly pronounced accent... Presentation of a "Bodensee card" which gives small discounts for the access to certain museums in particular, all around Lake Constance. The hotel is very new. Attendance still seemed very limited to me. Great calm in the establishment, beautiful decoration from the large reception room which also includes the bar and the breakfast room. Spacious room (“comfort” category), pleasant, clean. Presence of a safe (no additional cost for its use). Large TV screen (not used). RAS for the bathroom which is also spacious. Nice buffet for breakfast. Slightly limited variety of breads, croissants, pastries, several choices of cold meats and cheese, scrambled eggs, etc. Few fresh fruits, however. Check-out more pleasant and professional than the first contact on arrival. Center of Friedrichshafen accessible in around ten minutes by car. Public transport (bus) nearby but I haven't tried it. A preserved building from the old barracks has been transformed into a performance hall, a building which also has a pizzeria (“I Fratelli”, simple and good in a sort of vaulted cellar), a 5-minute walk from the hotel; This is practical for those who do not want to go to or return to the center. In the end, a very good stay for the 2 nights spent in the hotel. Unreservedly recommendable hotel.

This hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city centre, across the road from the Caserne entertainment venue, as well as the university. It’s a relatively quiet area, with some on-street parking outside but with a secure underground garage (cost 15€ per night) with direct lift access to the reception and upper floors. The hotel has only been open 9 months and you very much get the feeling that it’s fresh and new. The decor is industrial-modern but with some flair. The main reception / lobby area also functions as a lounge-bar at night and breakfast room. There’s a variety of seating options and it was a comfortable place to spend some time, have a drink or something to eat. I was staying at the hotel with colleagues and our rooms seemed identical. The dark decor theme is a bit different - the corridors are particularly poorly-lit - but the rooms are spacious, with a beautifully-comfortable bed, sofa, desk, flatscreen TV, air-con/heating and safe. There’s not a huge amount of space to hang or store clothes, with only a modest, open-wardrobe area as you go into the room and there are no drawers, only a few shelves. If you were a couple, staying there for more than a few days, this might prove inadequate, but for me, for one night, it was fine. One thing to note: there were absolutely no ‘extras’ in the room or bathroom, ie. coffee/tea-making facilities, minibar/fridge, reading material, tissues, toiletries, etc. The bathroom is super: underfloor heating (which is adjustable), a large, halo-lit mirror, hairdryer and fantastic shower, as well as window with natural light. However, there are only two soap dispensers in there, one in the shower and one next to the sink. So don’t forget to bring all your own toiletries! The breakfast was good. It cost 15€ extra but there was a nice selection, with fruit, yogurt, cereals, cheeses, ham, jams, various breads and pastries, as well as boiled and scrambled eggs and sausages, for those who like something hot. There was a machine for coffees and the quality of the cappuccino was unexpectedly good. The staff were all friendly and efficient. We needed taxis to get to an event at the harbour and these were ordered for us with no fuss. The five-ten minute drive into town cost around 15€. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. The wifi connection was excellent. All in all, a really pleasant and comfortable stay.

The Ibis Styles in Friedrichshafen is basically brand new and completely decorated in the popular industrial design. Industrial means color schemes from heavy industry and elements made of iron or graphic elements such as gears or similar. In this case, color scheme means that the rooms are also decorated in gray, brown, rust or anthracite tones. You have to like that. The room, a standard double room, tended to be rather dark, the ceiling was light. There was a seating area for one person, too far away one person would have had to sit on the bed. In front of the upholstered corner (literally: a corner, no armchairs or similar) there was a black side table, like you could find at Ikea years ago. That might be enough if you don't want to read a text in bed. I had a day without appointments and had to at least work on my notebook, which didn't really work out, because the corner is no substitute for a desk. Interesting: Some sockets also have USB-A ports, but the placement doesn't always seem sensible. There was no USB port on the seat, but there was one in the middle of the wall under the TV. Whatever they were thinking. In terms of amenities, the dark bathroom was very pleasant, and it had what felt like the best hotel hairdryer of my life. Since the room no longer had a minibar or any of its remains, there was no way to cool a bottle of water. Breakfast was Ibis standard, although the spacious breakfast area was my favorite thing in the whole hotel. The service was friendly, but not outstanding. Amazing: on three out of four days I dived into a cupboard early in the morning to plug in the toaster. That's what you should expect from the staff. I can't rate the other culinary offerings, because there were currently only four different pizzas on the menu. Maybe that's changed in the meantime. The location is opposite an old barracks complex around 1.3 km from the lake. On a nice day you can walk down to Lake Constance quite relaxed. There's a bus in front of the hotel that you could hear clearly in the morning. Since work was still being done on the complex, there was also some construction noise here and there, but that should have stopped by now. There was free parking nearby - I can't say what it looks like now. The staff is friendly, but not very interested. I wasn't even asked whether I liked it when I checked out. If you like the industrial look, you'll like it and will probably forgive everything else with a smile. I certainly won't book it again.
