Except for the small size of the room, other facilities are okay. Located in the countryside, you can watch the stars at night. There is a pizza shop nearby, otherwise you have to drive to a town about 30 kilometers away to solve the problem of eating and shopping. No breakfast. There was no one at the front desk when I checked in. I later found out that I was sleeping inside. I just checked my passport and made an online reservation without registering. I was given the key. Just leave the keys in the box at the office door when you leave.

Interesting place!!!! The room itself was nice and clean. It has been refurbished. We had all we needed for q good nights sleep! It was a bit difficult to reach the office as they are a small operation! They require calling in 24 hours prior to arrival. When we did arrive in the time frame provided, we couldn't reach anyone. We saw a set of keys on the desk, so assumed they we ours and used them to enter a room. The office and public areas for getting ice or using a microwave were very dirty, and unkept. Unpleasant to look at but didn't affect our stay. Price was reasonable.

Squaw Valley peaceful stay The place is quiet. I love that the place is only 30 mins away from Kings Canyon. There is also a Dollar General store across so you can always drive back and forth for some necessities. Pet friendly, with very minimal fee. Bed was comfy, room was well kept with quaint designs, makes you feel at home. It will be nice to have more coffee selections, the coffee had in our room was blah. Overall it was an awesome stay!

Smelly and horrible shower Cigarette butts everywhere. Hotel checkin and ice room reeked of cigarette smoke. No dead bolt on door. Shower water pressure was extremely low. Water was either scalding hot or freezing cold.

Do not make a reservation here! I arrived at 6:00. The management office is a separate building. It was closed. I knocked and rang the doorbell, but no answer. I called the phone number and it rang inside. A guest at the hotel who walked by there said he had the same experience, but that someone had come out eventually. I heard occasional noises inside the building. Around the side a door was open. At the doorway was a traffic cone with a "no trespassing" sign on it. 3 feet inside this open door was another door which said "employees only". I yelled inside "anyone there" several times". After 30 minutes I started using my phone to find a different hotel. As a last measure, I took one step past the "no trespassing" sign to knock loudly on the "employees only" door. After a few minutes, a young man, who seemed stoned, came out of this door and yelled at me for trespassing. I left and found a different hotel.

Probably should be rated 1 or 2 star Spent one night here on a larger trip. The exterior doesnt present well but the room was clean. It was very small. Quiet, comfortable bed. Fine if you manage your expectations. It is a roadside motel afterall. Probably should be rated a 1 or 2 star.
