We stayed four nights at the Central Hotel. It is centrally placed for visiting Freiburg but quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. They attend rapidly to any request. The breakfast is particularly good and caters for all tastes.

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our 5 days 4 nights trip to the Alsace areas. This was our first stop. The hotel located in a quiet area but within walking distance to the super market, many restaurants, bakeries, etc. However a car is needed to reach the city center. The room is simple but modern, clean, roomy with nice seating area and A/C. The complimentary breakfast was average but it is a nice bonus though. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because of the reasonable price, the complimentary breakfast and the services, I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
Usually, we use Airbnb and avoid traditional hotels and this is the perfect example why. We had to book one day in advance on short notice and the price was roughly 150 euro excluding parking, breakfast or air conditioning. Parking cannot be reserved, but is first come, first serve. Apparently good for those who check in prior to 6pm, bad for us. The hotel could use some modernization, the style is quite old, outdated decoration and presentation. The staff at the reception was quite nice. We threw our stuff in the room and went out for dinner. We came back around 11pm and just wanted to sleep. Lucky us, the fan did not work properly but did horrible noises. And we found hairs on our bed. We complained the next morning during check out. By the way the two other guests checking out complained about different stuff as well. For us, no sorry from the staff, only a complaint that we did not complain immediately - yeah, at 11 pm and we were able to remove the hairs ourselves. Thanks, also for saying sorry. Overall, not worth the value and for sure they will never see us again.
It‘s a matter of opinion. Myself likes to conclude wrinkles are the result of a happy lifetime, but you might think otherwise. If you are into modern styles dont go there. This business is over 100 years of age/tradition and even though additions were build, rooms where updated it has that unique touch you could call charming. The rooms are quite spacious and offer all you really need. The service is pretty good and everyone is doing its best to make your stay comfortable. I have never been to a hotel where I had real electric roller shutters instead of more, or mostly less, „blackout curtains“. Another feature is the a/c cooling with groundwater instead of chemical components. pros: roller shutters spacious rooms free sauna free private parking sympathetic staff reasonable priced food for dinner at a hotel cosy outdoor dining bus station directly in front cons: public carpet has lots of stains elevator is outdated and dimly lit imho the biggest flaw/dealbreaker: The breakfast is below average (price-performance), bacon was wobbly and not crisp at all, butter wasnt cooled, even the famous black forest ham was mediocre at best. But hey…if one door is shut…there‘s a good bakery right across the street.
Very close to the cathedral, the cathedral’s morning market is very lively and starts at 7:30
Just near the Black Forest, there is a viewing platform for a short walk to overlook the city
Many restaurants need to be booked in advance
My husband and I were first at the Hotel City Freiburg and we were enthusiastic. We were very friendly welcome. The hotel is modern and has a generous lobby. Our room was cozy and clean. Breakfast buffet leaves no wishes and here too you are very friendly. The restaurant is also very recommendable - we have had a great dinner there and we have been very friendly and accompanied by the evening here too. All in all was our 4-tday stay very pleasant and we will come back in any case.
The sweetest, friendliest, and quaintest hotel in Freiburg. It’s nestled in a residential community right on the bus route. Older and no frills hotel but clean, quiet, and well maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. A special shout out to Niels Eggers. Niels had been an exchange student in Utah not far from my home. Niels treated me like an old friend. This was my second stay and I’ll stay here every time I visit.
The lady at check-in was very friendly and managed to find me a quiet room, just as I'd requested. She also recommended some late-night food spots, which was really helpful. The room itself was basic but very clean. They only provide one bottle of water for your entire stay, so you might need to buy more from nearby, but this was a minor inconvenience considering the hotel’s lower price compared to others. It also would have been nice to have access to a hot drink, even if it was from a communal area. As I need my morning coffee, I discovered a fantastic café across the road that serves delicious Vietnamese coffee - a nice surprise in Freiburg! I appreciated that the windows opened, allowing fresh air in, which meant I didn't need to use the air conditioner and the room stayed at a comfortable temperature. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. My only minor gripe was with the TV. While it was a premium brand (Loewe), the HDMI port on the side was disabled, and the one on the back, which you can't physically reach, was the only one available to select. When I asked about this, they said it was by design, which I found quite odd - why have the option to select an external input at all? You can cast with an Android device (not with iPhones), but this didn't work well for me. With most channels being in German except for a few news ones, it would have been nice to plug in my phone via HDMI and stream something.

Yyash kariaI really liked the Hospitality of Courtyard Marriott.
Perfect Location, 10mins walk to all important tourist spots.
Its close to the station but couldnt hear trains or traffic so that was ok. So its a good location. But thats all there is. The hotel is dirty, small rooms and the cleaning people start cleaning early. So if you still sleeping you gonna wake up hearing the vacum cleaner....plus its way too expensive for what you get...i wouldnt stay there again
GGuest UserVery nicely furnished rooms with enough deposit facilities. The sticks had USB-A ports installed. Also two good seating facilities in the room. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Only the huge picture of a woman in the bathroom first unusual, after a short habitual phase then also OK. The bathroom was also large, just as the shower. Very much space for cultural bag and co to deposit. We would definitely come back. Parking with € 19 per night may be a little expensive.
AAnonymous UserMy experience at this hotel was exceptional. The room was impressively spacious and impeccably clean, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment throughout my stay. The front desk staff were polite and welcoming during check-in, setting a positive tone from the moment I arrived. The buffet breakfast offered a wide array of delicious choices, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others seeking a top-notch hospitality experience.
The hotel is located in a lovely spot in the woods, with walking/trails and birds chirping, outside Freiburg. There is a large terrace to sit on for a drink or a meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful to provide a relaxing experience. I really enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffett. If you are looking to explore the area, it is situated on the way to Alsace so you can go into Freiburg and France quite easily. If you want a hotel right in Freiburg, this isn't it. And the highway is a bit close by so there is some sound, but usually the birds chirping was louder.
GGuest UserThis was a great find. I was driving my daughter to Freiburg so she could take up a University placement for a semester and her accommodation was literally across the road from the hotel. It is functional but just what we needed - a comfortable bed, a super clean bathroom and a nice buffet breakfast in the morning. The receptionist was so friendly and spoke extremely good English and was able to offer some useful tips for us. Don’t worry if you can’t make it while the reception is open as their Keyboy system works really well and it was easy to get to our rooms. There is parking just outside the hotel specifically for guests and a tram stop on line 1 to get into town with some feee transport passes for a day provided by the hotel. We also had dinner at the adjacent pizza restaurant which was busy but served really good food. I will definitely come back when I come to pick my daughter up.
Our booking through ********** wasn't received by the hotel but the hotel was very helpful and we received some separated rooms instead. The service was excellent and the hotel is very nice with a great atmosphere. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast can be ordered with gluten-free options but you just have to ask for it. The rooms are clean with AC and a small kitchen for smaller meals. The area around the hotel is nice enough with restaurants and shopping basically right out the door. There are aom construction nearby but no bigger issues there. Parking was full so we had to find some in the streets nearby which was free.
GGuest UserWe were on the transit and only arrived at 22.30 in this hotel. The reception was no longer occupied. We could check in the hall digitally, the family room for 4 people I had booked in advance. The room was simple but good. The stacking beds were good, only when we were going to bed for a while we were scared. This mattress was the end of life. Thick gap in the middle, feathers you felt, gaps in the mattress, in short very bad! Even though the B&B is a budget hotel, a somewhat good mattress you can expect. Reception was no longer occupied, so we could do little at 23.00 hour. I immediately sent a mail to the hotel and filed an official complaint and asked for compensation, so you don't let your customers stay. We put some towels on the math and tried to sleep. The next morning she spoke to the receptionist, and told her that she had read the mail and sent it to the hotel manager, she offered her excuse but she couldn't mean anything more to us, it should be through the hotel manager. We are now close to 5 days away and we haven't heard anything about the B&B hotel Freiburg Nord.
GGuest UserWe stayed at B&B Hotel Freiburg-Süd for one night on our way through the Black Forest. We had a prior reservation, and the check-in process was very smooth and hassle-free. The room was quite small, as was the bathroom, typical of a B&B. It had a small TV mounted in front of the bed. There was a window facing the tram terminal; the movement was constant but not bothersome. The hotel offers free parking with plenty of available space, which is very convenient if you have a car. The hotel is located somewhat away from the city center, but one of the trams that stops near the hotel can take you to Münsterplatz (Cathedral Square) in about 25 minutes. The only way to reach it is by public transportation; it is not feasible to walk (it's more than 5 kilometers). Although it is a ”bed and breakfast,” the rate does not include breakfast. However, they offer it for an additional fee. If you don't mind the distance to the city and the size of the room, it is a budget-friendly option in Freiburg.
