Sunday House Inn and Suites

Could not open the door. Front desk clerk tried and clerks solution was to shove your body weight into the door. Clerk did not offer to switch rooms. My 64 yr old husband literally had to kick the door while holding up the handle to enter the room. Following morning called the front desk and asked the lock be repaired. Upon return to the room that evening, no lock repair. Room 106 bed is old and lacks support, shower curtain had mold, handicapped room that would not function properly for a person in need (towels above toilet, hand held shower not attached low). Staff is courteous. Breakfast lady did a great job.

Be sure to ask where your room is located - the front section of the property, or the rear, older section. The rooms in the rear section (actually a completely separate property that was acquired) are...ok, but their age shows in numerous ways: The faint musty smell when you first open the door, the alarming slope of the walkway, the creaking, uneven floor- in a historic building, these would just be part of the "charm"...but this isn't a historic property. It's just old. To drive from the front parking lot to the rear lot, you have to go through a "pass-through" - basically they removed a room on the lower floor of the building, and paved it - and if your truck is tall, it won't fit. Anything over about 7 feet tall, nope, not gonna make it. To be fair, some renovations have been done - the bathroom vanity has a nice engineered granite top, and the shower has attractive tile work. The wall-mounted A/C unit is at the back of the room, in a corner, but it works well and isn't too loud. The TV was pretty small (I've seen larger PC monitors) - it wouldn't be a problem in a smaller room, but it's like 15 feet away from the bed. The bed - well, it was a bed. The pillows, though - worthless. Tiny, flat, no support. If you drive there, TAKE YOUR OWN PILLOWS.

1st Floor room on back side of building was infested with crickets and roaches, even after we called to have them cleaned up, more appeared, including a 5-6” gecko. They need to vacuum behind/under furniture to remove all the dead bugs. Otherwise, convenient location.

Great location. Rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and air conditioning was cold. Employees were extremely friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with a variety of food. Loved my Texas waffle and the biscuits and gravy. Look forward to our next stay. The pool was great and the water was perfectly refreshing after a hot day.

What a spacious room! Everything was so comfortable from the chairs to the bed to the unexpected softened water! We traveled here in our 54 Chevy for the Hot Rod Tour of Texas 24. The courtyard parking was perfect and made us feel like our vehicle was very well protected. The breakfast that was provided was reminiscent of how breakfast used to be… Lots of choices and hot meals. Spending our second night in the pool area… listening to the peaceful waterfall and enjoying a beautiful Texas Hill-country evening. We have definitely added this to our places to stay in Fredericksburg.

Stayed here over spring break. Nice family motel Close to anything you want to do in Fredericksburg. Nice rooms, friendly staff, heated pool and breakfast is included. The room was comfortable and clean. The only down side is the TV, it was really small. Would stay again.
