The Ironclad Inn is an experience that should not be missed when visiting Fredricksburg. Conveniently located only 2 short blocks from downtown, and also close to the historic battlefield sites, this historic home dates to 1793 and is a survivor of the Civil War battle of Fredricksburg. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable with all the modern amenities required today. Additionally, the bourbon tasting room must not be missed! Along with the various bourbons, they served a great tray of foods there, too. The staff are super-friendly. The food is delicious--We enjoyed a wonderful quiche breakfast with strawberries, orange juice, peach iced tea, and coffee. The home is decorated with beautiful works of original art. There are porch swings and rocking chairs for relaxing on the spacious front porch. Like all great B&Bs, the Ironclad Inn is an experience that should not be missed by anyone visiting Fredricksburg. Its a great value as well as a fantastic place to stay.

The Kenmore Inn is beautiful, but its website is grossly misleading. The hotel has almost no staff, so there is no one to greet you when you arrive. They apparently use the excuse that staff had to attend "personal business" on every new arrival. No one there after five, even though the website says there is staff on site all the time. There is no room cleaning. No new towels. No way to get other pillows or blankets. When we complained the air conditioning didn't work, we were told "sorry." Lots of obviously deferred maintenance. The free breakfast was fine, but nothing special. We have stayed an many, many B&Bs, and none of them have treated us as poorly as this one. Save your money, stay at an AirBnB and get breakfast in town.

El hotel es una magnífica mansión de estilo y origen colonial muy bien cuidada, limpia, bonita y acogedora.
El desayuno es a la carta con tres opciones a elegir y café y té a voluntad. Aparte durante todo el día tienen un frutero bien surtido y a disposición de los huéspedes.

Great stay at Ironclad
Our stay at Ironclad was great! From our first interaction in the Inn to our last everything exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and private. The Inn is really somewhere between a B&B and a hotel. The bourbon room downstairs is such a wonderful time and the cocktails are fantastic. The breakfast is also delicious and the service far exceeded a standard B&B breakfast. We loved our short stay here and will be back.
