Hampton Inn & Suites Frederick-Fort Detrick

Room was clean and modern. Plenty of outlets. Only 1 person on duty when we checked in and some outsiders had wandered in asking for coffee cups. Unfortunately they didn’t inform us that housekeeping was every other day. You can request daily service but that was not told to us either. I asked for fresh towels in the morning at the front desk and they were never delivered. There also was an issue with a stranger having out in bathroom stall on two consecutive mornings. When front desk was informed it was dealt with right away. We stayed 4 nights. I would stay there again because it’s very close to my kids home. I do have a hotel I like better in the area and that would be my 1st choice. Price was the determining factor.

I was not impressed. I'm a diamond member. I was only offered water after I requested it and was still given pushback only to be offered just one bottle of water. There was dried "ick" on the TV screen. The mirror in the bathroom was dirty. All the walls and doors needed a wipe down due to visible stains and dirt. There was mold in the corners of the shower.

We stayed for a week in early June '25. Room was extremely clean & beds very comfortable. Air Conditioning was quiet & worked great. Desk staff were polite & efficient. Housekeeping Staff kept the rooms very clean and stocked bathroom with lots of fluffy towels & all the soaps, shampoo, etc. that we needed. Complimentary Breakfast was abundant and meal area & tables were spotless. Dietary Staff were friendly & helpful. The pool was very clean & a fun way to cool down after a day of shopping & sight seeing. Downtown Frederick & the Golden Mile are a short, easy drive. Plenty of parking close to hotel entrances. We made good use of the in-room refrigerator & microwave. About 2 miles from the hotel is a restaurant we loved, Madrones. The only very minor complaints we had were that the lights near the headboards were quite dim, not bright enough to read by. Fortunately I'd packed a book light. Also the ice machine on our floor, the 4th, revealed some mildew & deterred us from getting ice there for our beverages but it was adequate for using in an ice bucket to cool bottled water. We plan to return before the end of the year and will certainly be staying here again.

We had a suite. Since we weren’t feeling well, we ate in. A second chair in the room would have been nice. We had the love seat, but wanted to both sit at the desk to eat. The room was a good size. The bathroom was pretty small. When we had a problem with tv remotes, someone promptly came up to the room to help us.
